looks like rockstar updated gta v and scripthook that has only just been done, needs doing again...
-
yea im gonna kill myself

It's sad that AB won't release SH as open source. Of course that doesn't guarantee anyone else would, or could, update it.
Each update is different, we knew this one was coming as @ItsJustCurtis had posted in another thread. The last one might have been just a version check, this one could be very different if native functions etc were added or modified...
AB is in the Ukraine, as per his post in another forum, so I'm sure his priorities are, and they should be, on staying safe - same for his family and friends.
As for the whiners who will cry about not being able to play, it's their own fault for getting into a hobby/practice called modding without backing up their files.

Wow, that's tough. I hope he and his family are safe. As for the second part, I was in the process of preparing to back up my game after finally getting everything fixed and then this mess. I was offline too!

Wow, wheels within wheels, wishing AB and his family(indeed all Ukranians) a safe passage during what I guess could only be discribed as hell on earth. I certainly wasnt complaining about AB, more confused about Rockstars problem with us keeping there game going strong.. I have pretty much all backed up so maybe time to look at useing old versions, one thing I do think is vanilla in 4k looks amazing, I have stopped useing natural vission, maybe these updates are improving the look of the game too? I think there is a workaround for reversing to old version so mods can be used...
-
@JohnFromGWN I started sending $10 to AB when scriphook goes outdated, but I noticed his patreon wasnt accepting payments last time, that might of changed now...
-
Hello friends!
Does anyone know if there is a site where I can see the notes of these patches that Rockstar is doing?

Crazy how modders fixed that issue a long time ago, and R* just fixed it, unbelievable.
The Heavy Sniper bug that is.
-
@JohnFromGWN Thx friend, i see the changes.
[May 17, 2022] – Game Stability and Performance
Fixed a crash that occurred when equipping the Heavy Sniper Mk II in first person view Fixed several crashes in GTAV and GTA Online
Luckily I have my backups lol
-
@Fabito48hd all you need, at least with Steam, is GTA5.exe, to revert. And ofc ignore OpenIV overwriting update.rpf if you do choose to update the game to the newest version/ patch.
-
@JohnFromGWN thank you, I updated allready how ever I didnt update on my laptop, could I carry exe over? worth a try, how do I stop it trying to update?
-
@JohnFromGWN I cant thank you enough JohnFromGWN my laptop exe worked and I can continue with my project, thank you so much bro!
-
@Batmans33 With Steam, you will not be nagged once you revert. Not sure about EGS.
-
Fantastic!! I had no idea it would be that easy, thanks again!
-
@JohnFromGWN Yes my friend, with this I am warned, thank you very much for your advice!
-
No such fix for us PC/standalone game users... even with the auto update option off this went ahead and did it, and putting in a pre patch exe only causes the game to keep updating it.
so tired of having to fix my heavily patch SP game constantly... you'd think this company could figure out what other companies have known to do for the last 25 years, separate executables for online/offline play.
-
It is not new that many video game companies are targeting the modder communities.
I don't know if it will be the case of R* but...
-
@Starland Unfortunately there is only one version of GTA5 and R* could not give a shit about modders nor SP for that matter.
Their business model is to milk GTAO for every penny they can, get you to buy the Trilogy and get you to buy GTA6 one day in the distant future.
-
@Fabito48hd There is no money to be made by allowing the community to mod. On the contrary many companies make their money selling DLC.
A few companies, like Valve, have provided excellent tools and support to the community for DLC and mods such as L4D2, TF2, HL, and HL2, Gary's Mod, etc - but that's the exception.
In other words, there is no way in hell that R* will ever support modding. In fact, they would stop it if they could for financial reasons and even support issues as new modders break the game and then submit tickets to R* for support.
-
@Starland Where did you find an auto update option? There is definitely no such thing with Steam, however you can revert and Steam will not try again until the next patch is released.
-
@JohnFromGWN Don't give ideas, look at what Bethesda has done
-
@JohnFromGWN Thats become apparent, this will be my first and last purchase from them... not spending any more of my hard earned money on a company that doesnt seem to care for some of its customers.
i miss the old days, when i created and released a patch called "full canvas jacket" for a flight sim called red baron 3d, the company was very cool, actually gave me info, let me talk with people there - only stipulation was not to put it in the big box stores (2004), but i was able to sell it online, did interviews and had reviews in mags all around the world... different times i guess.
even got computer gaming world runner up for flight sim of the year 2004. of course MS won that.
-
@JohnFromGWN not asking them too, just stop breaking my game i bought thats on my personal hardrive... let me disable online in my game since i never have and never will go on it.
-
@JohnFromGWN ya im stand alone on my pc, in the launcher, when you select GTA5 under installed games, it give you the option to shut off auto update.... i have it off for 6 or so months, when i would boot up the game it would ask if i wanted to allow the game to change blah blah, just said no, went and played... hadnt played for about 5 more months when i came back it just did it without asking, i can reverse the changes to gta5 exe and the installer, but it just keeps trying to make me update now.
