How does one hash a custom vehicle?

  • I've been trying to figure out how to hash a vehicle for quite some time now and haven't figured it out yet.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You can get a vehicle's hash in OpenIV's Hash Generator (OpenIV > 'Tools' tab > 'Hash Generator') if that's what you mean?

    Hash Generator (hex):

    Hash Generator (hex)

    Hash Generator (Unsigned int):

    Hash Generator (Unsigned int)

    Hash Generator (Signed int):

    Hash Generator (Signed int)

There are also posts on websites, like this one with the hashes listed for reference etc.

  • @a63nt-5m1th I mean like if I wanted to name a part or a vehicle with a custom name like the Entity XFE or something, how would I go about doing that since it's a custom name? I'd assume it has something to do with the GXT2.

  • @Ethical
I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure you add them to 'global.gxt2' in whatever language '_rel.rpf' you are using ('american_rel.rpf' for English etc). You don't have to use hashes afaik, just enter everything in plain text. See here.

Export the '.gxt2' to '.oxt' using OpenIV > Right-click '.gxt2' file > 'Export to openformat Text File ).oxt) Ctrl+S' & then edit the file with an external text editor, like Notepad++ etc & then reimport the file using drag & drop & OpenIV will convert it to '.gxt2' automatically on import.
Any lines you add will be automatically sorted alphabetically (using the line's first letter/number) when you import it into OpenIV, so you'll have to search for any values/names you add from within OpenIV's Text Viewer to confirm it worked etc (ie, they won't necessarily be in the same place as you typed them, unless you do it alphabetically yourself from the start etc)

  • @a63nt-5m1th Thanks, that link definitely helped me. I must've been over thinking it.

  • @a63nt-5m1th Oh wait, would you hash a vehicle mod part in the same way like a spoiler or something?

  • @Ethical
I presume so (just never done it first-hand etc), this post seems to suggest so. Might be useful general '.gxt2' info in this thread also.

  • @a63nt-5m1th Thank you.
