For me that's not even what's making the game crash even after a fresh install. looks like R* really screwed something up with this game update and now I need to find out what it is so I can play again.

@LORDESOMO just replace the dinput8.dll with another dinput8.dll before it updated.. works for me

@AR2020 Seriously? Dinput8.dll hasn't been updated since 2015.

not solved for some.
looks like they did what they did in the past, modded the game, waited till SH was updated and then changed the game again.
