about trim colors

  • Some vehicles in gta5 cannot change default trim color, for example my favourite suv cavalcade, but I really want to change it to brown. My friend told me I can do that by changing a number in carcols or carvariations but I have no idea how to do it. Anyone know?

    To choose what colours are applied to the various colour changeable parts of a vehicle, you edit the number values in each of the multiple '<indices' sections for that vehicle in 'carvariations.ymt':

    ...\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\x64\data\carvariations.ymt

    Example:

        <Item>
          <modelName>cavalcade</modelName>
          <colors>
            <Item>
              <indices content="char_array">
                11 - **First value is Primary Colour**
                11 - **Second value is Secondary Colour**
                5 - **Third value is Pearlescent Colour**
                156 - **Fourth value is Alloy Wheel Colour**
                0 - **Fifth value is ??? Colour** (usually set to '0' (Black), can't remember what it controls, easy to test & find out tho)
                0 - **Sixth value is ??? Colour** (also usually set to '0' (Black), can't remember what it controls etc)
              </indices>

    Download & view LSC Vehicle Colours Index to see what numbers match up to what colours.

    If you play about with the 5th & 6th number values. Remind me what coloured parts they change. Cheers. :thumbsup:

  • Thanks for your help,but no matter which number I use,the trim color remains same. Maybe I need to find another way instead.
