"dlclist.xml" after 3kb exceeded makes textures disappear

  • When my dlclist.xml has about 4kb, various textures are either in low quality or just plain gone.
    I have a gameconfig and packfile limit adjuster, but those seem to do jack shit.
    Once the dlclist.xml is back in the 3kb range, everything is in working order.
    Would love some insight on this crap, as it's been bugging me recently.
    If you wanna know what my game version is, it's version 1.0.2699 (latest update)
    For now, I'm gonna check what's causing this fuckery

  • @-EcLiPsE- honestly that makes zero sense. Why would the size of a text file like dlclist.xml, even if we were talking huge, have any impact on textures.

    Mine has hundreds of lines including comments and would be absolutely shocked if it or any similar text file (aimed at loading mods) would cause texture issues.

    There must be entries causing the issue, by entries i mean mods - has nothing to do with the size of the file itself, just its contents (what is being loaded).

  • @-EcLiPsE-

    P.S. the reason dropping the size fixes the textures, if it wasn't clear in my response above, is that you're removing the entry (entries) causing the texture loss (large mods, high polygon, whatever).

    Just for fun, my dlclist.xml is 32kb (10 times the size of yours) and for pure fun I doubled it in size, by just duplicating all the entries - no issues whatsoever loading (ofc it only loaded each mod once).

  • Thats not being caused by the dlclist.xml file. Its being caused by whatever mods you are using. I'm going to assume they're addon vehicles, since those are the main mods you need the dlclist.xml to use.
    The mods you are using most likely are dogshit quality, either having a massive amount of polygons or a lack of texture LODs. Either of those will cause texture popping/loss, because the game engine cant keep up as its using too many resources trying to handle all the polygons/textures on the vehicle.
    I recommend removing whatever mods you are using, and download ones that have both a reasonable amount of polygons and texture LODs.

    @MRDotted that's what i already replied.
