Disable Email Sound Completely - without disabling phone

Ok, this is a strange one. For the past 18 months or so I've been playing free roam SP without new email notification beeps.
Recently I replaced my save game and the phone is doing annoying email notification beeps again, although I'm not in missions, using a 100% save mod..
All notifications in game settings are turned off. I have the phone in silent mode (there is no flight mode in offline) and yet I keep getting email notifications beeps - keeps making that annoying noise. Have looked at phone settings, all are correctly set as are the in game notification ones. Unless I missed something.
I know @Jitnaught has a script to disable the phone and I've seen the source code as well, but I never used code before to disable the phone.
Note: I don't want to disable the phone. I use the phone the odd time I save the game (autosave is off) - I just want to disable the email sound!
Is there a way to delete the sound file (or replace it with silence)? If so, where is it located?
And I don't understand how I was able to disable it in the first place (without a script) and play 18 months without the damn thing ringing.
Or there has to be a way to make the phone inactive cuz I managed to do this almost 2 years ago but have no clue how I did it.
As for Google, every search returned that it's impossible to do - yet it was possible.

Update. Using
void TERMINATE_ALL_SCRIPTS_WITH_THIS_NAME(const char* scriptName)This is a temporary fix because i never used a script previously for this annoyance.
