Editing loadouts.meta

  • I've been messing around with the loadouts.meta to give police different weapons, but I can't seem to get it working.


    My loadouts.meta:

    I'm trying to add attachments to some of the guns for police, while for swat and heli, I completely changed their guns (giving swat carbine mk2, and heli a marksman rifle). The issue is, the guns that I either changed completely or gave more that 1 attachments are no longer used. Heli cops now use their sidearm, and every single cop that spawns either has a pistol or a shotgun. None of them spawn in with either the carbine or SMG like the usually do. How do I fix this issue?

    Never dug into 'loadouts.meta' & figured it out completely myself (aside form the basics), but from what I gather, it can be a little funky if edited incorrectly. Have you installed Redux by any chance? As per first thread linked below, have seen issues with Redux's 'loadouts.meta' in the past.

    Have a read of these threads as they may elucidate something & will cover a lot of the basics of editing 'loadouts.meta' & how they connect to 'peds.ymt' & in turn 'pedpersonality.ymt' also:

  • @a63nt-5m1th following the first thread, it seems like for the most part everything is working correctly.
    I've deleted LOADOUT_COP_SHOTGUN. SWAT now arrives with the carbine mk2 as it should, although I'm still trying to figure out why LOADOUT_COP_HELI doesn't spawn a ped with the marksman rifle in the heli.

    Another interesting think I've noticed is that LOADOUT_COP_L1, LOADOUT_COP_L2 and LOADOUT_COP_L3 are never used. All regular cops that spawn seem to default to LOADOUT_COP.

    Try going into the 'weaponmarksmanrifle.meta' & then in it's '<WeaponFlags>' line delete the 'DriveByMPOnly' flag.

    Might be something else going on too, but hopefully that should get it working from the heli :thumbsup:

    Never looked at loadouts that closely, so not sure what LOADOUT_COP_L1/L2/L3 are for. Might be they were planned to be used & then never were, or they're just used in certain missions or something?!

  • @a63nt-5m1th unfotunately the marksman rifle is still not working, however everything else is working as expected. I'll keep messing with the marksman rifle, maybe I'll be able to get it to work, but other than that, thanks for the help :)
