GTAV wont Launch; Comes up with "Corrupted Files" Error Message after Editing dlclist.xml for Adding Cars (Epic Games Ver.)
-
I have been trying to get the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 mod that was uploaded by Abolfazldanaee to work. The install instructions require that I make a new entry in the dlclist.xml found in update/update.rpf/common/data with the following information: dlcpacks:\czr1\ I also tried formatting it the same way as the other entries, with <Item> in front and </Item> at the end. No luck.
I downloaded OpenIV and followed the instructions exactly, but it kept coming up with an error message claiming that the files were corrupted whenever I'd try to launch the game. Even when I deleted the new entry, it would still come up with the error message and I had to verify the game files just to get GTAV working again.
I left a comment on the mod page asking if the mod worked with the Epic Games version of GTAV just in case that were the issue. The Corvette is my favorite car and I would love to have it in the game. One final issue: I appear to have an additional GTAV folder within my game's install folder, with its own executables for GTAV and other game folders. It's as if the game were installed within the game folder, with slight differences in the files. I wonder if this is causing the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I only just started modding GTAV, so I hope it's a simple matter of not knowing what I'm doing.

It certainly is not normal.
Remove it all. Re-install and use a 'mods' folder to edit your files. Have you read https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/14693/quick-start-guide-to-modding-grand-theft-auto-v

@ReNNie I haven't read through it yet, but I will if I have the time thanks. I removed everything in my main GTAV folder and reinstalled like you said. But now I don't have a scripts or a mods folder. I just created them, but hopefully there isn't anything that's supposed to be in there that isn't provided by the mods themselves.

@ReNNie okay, so I tried editing dlclist with the correct entry (as the other entries are formatted and not how the example on the mod page is formatted), and it didn't break my game this time. I was able to launch GTAV successfully. But I couldn't find CZR1 in the car spawner provided by Scripthook. The mod author says to use a Trainer to spawn the vehicle, so I just figured anything that's capable of spawning vehicles would suffice. Maybe I'm wrong.

@ReNNie sorry last reply. Turns out I did have to install a separate trainer. I found the car under "add-on cars." Thanks for your help!

the car spawner provided by Scripthook.
Don't install the native trainer packaged with Scripthook. Delete it.
