Cars clipping through me when driving in first person

Have this annoying issue where cars coming from behind me would clip right through me, whenever I'm driving in first person. Only happens when they come up from the rear half of my vehicle, so police cars that are chasing after me will phase right through me if I suddenly stop. Honestly can't think of what would cause this as so far the only mods I've installed that deal with cars are Inverse Power, Better Chases+, and Manual Transmission. My hunch is that it's because I have the FOV set higher than the game allows (100), which is kinda dumb. Has anyone else had this issue?
