Downgrade Blues.

Every since the July DLC, it's been nuts. Everything worked before that, now, I'm having issues with using the 4 GTA V files you use to downgrade your game. I get the infinity startup page when I do that. Lucky for me, I usually back up the entire directory on an external (I use a gaming laptop with limited space) So I will delete the tainted updated directory and upload my saved one from the external in a worse case scenario. This is how I've been getting by since the other methods do not work for me.
Is there any way to lock out the updates from Steam and keep the game downgraded? I'm cool living without the extra peds and new vehicles that come with the updates. The mods makes SP worth it anyway. I've been away for a while and I apologize in advance if this issue has already been addressed.

Only one file is required to do a downgrade revert, GTA5.exe, nothing else. Just remember if using OpenIV not to allow it to copy over update.rpf from your games to your mods.
Steam, like other versions, forces you to update every time R* does a patch or releases new DLC. I have searched for a flag or file that tells Steam that the update is complete, out of curiosity, but have never found it.
The good news is once you revert with Steam it will not nag you again until the next R* update which could be 6 months or 12 months later.
So process is simple. Backup your Steam version of GTA5.exe (I'm with 2372) and once Steam has finished its update, copy that file over, overwriting the updated Steam GTA5.exe. That's it, that's all. No more falling through the map etc.
Two notes:
- I keep the GTA5.exe versions of each update in case they are needed.
- I don't touch the updated game files, no need to, because I don't want the DLC and don't play online.
- This is personal, but I don't update SH5 although I do keep versions of SH5 with the GTA5.exe Versions. I keep my 2372 version of SH5 because I don't believe in backwards compatibility, but that's just me. Update SH5 if you want.
BTW, you can even convert the new peds and vehicles to work with the reverted game if you wish to do that. I've tested this it works, but like you I have no interest unless they come up with a really cool ped.

@JohnFromGWN Thanks again. By the way, I lost track of the recommendation for an alternate script for add on peds that you gave me back in July or so. I forgot where I saved the link.

@oldtimergamer6351 just so you're aware, I sent the link but my post was deleted. Since you're trying to get your system stable again, remember that you only need the addonpeds template. The other mods are optional (Simple Trainer, ReSpawnfix, Character Swap).
