Menyoo stopping me from recording Rockstar Editor videos
-
I completely reinstalled my GTA, all I have installed now is the latest Menyoo, ScripthookV and ScripthookVDotnet and OpenIV. Everytime I press F1 and try to record a video, after pressing F2 or recording for the full 30 seconds I get "Failed to save recording". I don't know what to do. I can open up Rockstar Editor perfectly fine, I just can't record videos.
-
@bornfrompain why are you blaming Menyoo? It's not the cause of your problem unless you changed the default F8 to F1 or F2.
-
@JohnFromGWN I didn't change F8 to F1 or F2, I can still open up Menyoo by pressing F8. I didn't change any keys. However whenever I try to record a video using F1/F2 and save it, I get a message saying "saved to record".
And this ONLY happens because of Menyoo, because when I deleted the MenyooStuff folder and Menyoo.asi, I was able to record videos just fine.

@bornfrompain That is very strange because Menyoo is installed in millions of games, many of which use the Rockstar Video Editor, myself included. Normally when something fails to save it is because of Windows permission issues or in rare cases because of an anti-virus or similar software blocking a write operation.
I did a quick google search and found this post that might answer your question.

@bornfrompain As I've written many times before, every GTA 5 game is configured differently. What works for you, or doesn't work, will not mean it works for everyone.
When I post I verify what I post rather than just speculate. This video tells a different story from your experience and that of the link i posted.

@bornfrompain and here is the additional proof that Menyoo plays well with the R* Editor. The video below shows the actual recorded clip, proving that the recording did indeed take place without any issues. In passing the R* editor doesn't like all mods.
I understand your cause and effect logic, and I applaud it, but there are obviously other factors involved. Too many people blame Menyoo or SH5 when there are other factors in play. Unfortunately I can't shed light on your issue other than possible folder permission issues. Unless your Menyoo is conflicting with another Trainer or with a script Mod. You might want to disable all other scripts and Trainers and try again.
Keep in mind again that you seem to be in the exception group, if not this problem would have been reported by machinima and Youtubers who definitely use Menyoo for their creations.

@JohnFromGWN This is what it was, you're right. So I turned off my anti virus which is just the plain windows 10 anti virus and deleted and reinstalled menyoo and it works prefectly fine. If you didnt point this out to me I wouldnt have known, thank you so much

@bornfrompain lucky guess on my part, glad it helped.
Edit. I only use Windows 10 defender as well, without issues, so something else is at fault. Perhaps your UAC? Mine is disabled although that isn't recommended by the Microsoft Gods.
