Car colliding with solid walls, but going through destructible objects

As the title says, I'm having an issue where my car collides with walls just fine, but goes through objects you can knock over (traffic lights, lamp posts, etc) I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and would know how to solve it?

@XTheo Which map? If this is happening on Liberty City or other maps it's normal. If this is happening on Los Santos you need to provide specific locations.
