I don’t understand why I can’t get the simplest of mods to work?
-
Hi guys,
Just got my PC and done my first ever modding. Only got a couple done so far and they’re working.
The simplest of them all though and I can’t understand for the life of me why they aren’t working. It’s new to me this world but even so.
It’s the menyoo/trainer mods. They won’t work after following the steps clearly.
Is there anyone on here who can login at their end to get on my computer and help me understand what’s going on. It’s driving me nuts.
Many thanks for your help

@Woz4l Post screenshots of your game folder and your mods folder (with subfolders) which clearly show what is installed.
Menyoo is a very simple install and only needs SH5/dinput8.
What version of GTA5?

I downloaded from CD keys, the Premium Version

You don't have scripthook 5 installed, so that's your first problem. Instead of SH5 you have a hyperlink to the website.
You also dumped update2.rpf in the wrong place. In fact you have a mods folder and then you have a second mods folder as a subfolder.
Your update folder should be in your mods folder, but you have 2 mods folders.
Your structure is a nightmare. Strongly suggest you start from scratch. Too many errors.

So should I delete everything and start again or just certain things?

Look at the screenshot I posted above. The files circled in red are the essential ones.
Your mods folder should contain a folder called Update.
The Update folder will contain update.rpf and update2.rpf and a folder called X64.
The folder called X64 will contain your dlcpacks folder. Most importantly you need to install scripthook 5. Putting a link to the SH5 website is definitely not how to install it.
You take the download, unzip it, look for a folder called bin, take out ScriptHookV.dll, and put it in your game folder with gta5.exe. You have dinput8.dll, I'm hoping it came from OpenIV.
-
Ok. changed what you have said. Is this what's wrong in the pic i sent?
Dinput8 did come from there yes
-
No. You don't put the bin folder there. You take out 1 file, ScriptHookV.dll, and you place it in the root folder where GTA5.exe is.
- Are you serious or trolling?
- How old are you?
- Have you ever looked at any instructions when installing any mod?
-
First of all, maybe learn some manners and how to talk to people. Especially when you're a mod on here. Not everyone understands everything perfectly. Why the hell would I be trolling like this? Seriously?!
I've got this far and I have had things working, I just need some guidance, that's all.
Sorry if a novice isn't allowed to make a mistake while he's trying to learn something new.

@JohnFromGWN you are acting like everyone should know this, get off your high horse and be an admin. (why does age matter? if there 6 asking for help then thats great that they arent breaking their game by just jumping in, if their 18+ same result their making sure they are doing it right.)
-
@fastmags-
Thank you. No excuse for a bad attitude and a rude response. Oh and for your information @JohnFromGWN I'm 34. PC gaming is alien to me, but I'm trying my best to learn.
-
@fastmags- First of all I'm not an admin.
If you read this thread, you would see I patiently gave advice throughout - none of it was followed.
Nothing I suggested or explained was followed.
Even without my help, none of the instructions that came with the mods were followed either. That's why there were so many errors.
My advice to install scripthook 5 was pretty clear.
When you see that the OP posted a website link to Alexander Blade's SH5 download page instead of installing the dll, well I'm really sorry but at that point I feel I'm getting trolled.
The reason I asked for the age, is because anyone over 7 can follow instructions. And clearly, there was no effort to read what was explained and suggested.
So, yes I'll apologize to @Woz4l and I'll leave you @fastmags to solve his problems because I've done all I could, and it was done in good faith.
I'm sorry for being an ahole.
