Do you still need it? Only you can answer that question because it was always optional and I'm guessing 99% of users never used it.

Steam users generally put launch options from Steam rather than from the command line. I've used command line options only because I start GTA5 from my own batch files or menus, almost never from Steam.

Regardless, this parameter may no longer be valid any longer. But you can always benchmark your performance, testing before and after, assuming it wasn't dropped after GTAIV.
