Texture Toolkit - Preview not showing + unable to replace textures.
-
Hi,
I'm having a problem where if I import a yft file to edit my livery, I come across a problem where I can't see the preview on the right side where the image is meant to be previewed. I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with this problem,
Thanks.Here's what I see: https://i.imgur.com/7JrmQTI.png

@hxperzzzz until one of the experts speaks. to edit textures (incl. liverys) this is what i do. using open IV i just export the image from the .ytd file in .png format then edit using Photoshop. When done and again using Open IV just replace the existing texture image in the .ytd file with the new one.

Go into OpenIV, open the yft file and look at the bottom.
You will see a link that says export embedded textures.
Export it, default is dds and make your changes.In the options, OpenIV, you can select the texture file format, which by default is dds.
If you want to edit in dds Google software that can edit dds. Photoshop has free plugins from nvidia and Intel.

@gtavjamal Not an expert, but this is an embedded texture in a yft (fragment file).
Process isn't the same as a ytd (texture dictionary).
Also the Toolkit is outdated and I don't think necessary in today's world.

@JohnFromGWN ahhhhh embedded textures yeah as you said using open iv.

@hxperzzzz
Texture Toolkit always was a bit funky. Use Codewalker's right-click > 'Export XML...' functionality instead.
Basic Codewalker XML Export/Import instructions in this post here ('.ydr' in example, but same applies for '.yft').
