how do you find out the model name to replace a car
-
how do you find out the model name, or whatever the name of the car that your trying to replace..example there is more than one baller, there is more than one burrito..please help
-
-
Use a search engine and Google gta5 cars.
https://www.gtabase.com/grand-theft-auto-v/vehicles/#sort=attr.ct3.frontend_value&sortdir=asc&name=Baller&page=1 -
Use OpenIV or codewalker to view models
-
Spawn cars by name with your trainer until you have the desired one, example baller 1, followed by baller 2, etc
-
Select ambient car with your trainer and name will appear
-
Install a mod that spawns cars by name
-
-
THAT WEBSITE DID NOT HELP IT SAID INVALIG MODEL
-
All 5 methods didn't work?
-
@Christopher1972
https://gtahash.ru/car/With the mod you downloaded there should be instructions. If you don't understand them then ask in the comments page. Generally speaking, if you have all the vehicle files, it doesn't matter which car you replace. But again, if you don't understand what to replace ask in the comments.
The simplest way to replace is to dump the files in the latest patch, this ensures they get priority. Of course the next update could potentially patch the same vehicle.

@JohnFromGWN NO
-
Woah.
-
-
@JohnFromGWN I WANT TO REPLACE A SEDAN WITH A SEDAN..LIKE I SAID BALLER HAS SEVERAL DIFFERENT ONES JUST AS AN EXAMPLE
-
@Christopher1972 I suggested ways to do it. I thought this was very simple but I was wrong. It's next to impossible, with the 5 methods I proposed, to clearly identify a Baller.
You'll need someone with a PhD in Quantum Physics or Astrophysics to guide you through a tutorial. I would suggest Brian May.
-
All kidding aside, post the link to the replace mod you want and we'll see if we can figure it out together or with some help from other members.
-
@JohnFromGWN there are a lot of sedans left ..there are supposedly 497 cars in game i have replaced about a hundred..the original dominator i got repaced with a 1996 mustang..theres a dominator gtt i cant find the file name for..it looks like a 1969 mustang
https://www.gta5rides.com/land-vehicles/dominator-gtt.cfm theres a link to it i will post them as soon as i figure out which ones that i havent reeplaced thanks
-
i have found that if i rename the car to the one i want to replace jt replaces it...there are more than one ruiner, dominator, etc..i still got a lot of unmodded sedans running around..the link i just sent is a car i cant figure out the file name too..original gta5, understand?

How to Find a Vehicle Spawn Name:
This is probably the easiest/simplest method you could use:
- If you see it in-game, steal it/jump in it, you'll then see the game car name displayed when you enter the vehicle
- Perhaps also take a few screenshots of the vehicle at that point, for reference etc
Then either:
-
Use a trainer to spawn all the variations & see which one matches (most trainers allow you to spawn a vehicle by name, find that setting & enter the name you got previous (ruiner etc) & then try adding numbers to the end of the name (ruiner2, ruiner3 etc) & try spawning those as well. If they exist, they'll spawn etc).
-
Use the Ctrl+F3 Search Box in OpenIV to search for the vehicle name (ruiner etc) & see how many variations there are & what numbers/names they have etc. Then either, test spawn them in-game, or open them with OpenIV's Model Viewer (double-click vehicle '.yft' etc) & compare them.
Note:
You should be able to Alt+Tab out of GTA V & access OpenIV (in read only mode, no OpenIV editing possible while GTA5.exe running) without having to restart the game if needed.Vapid Dominator GTT spawn name:
The Vapid Dominator GTT was added in the Los Santos Tuners (mptuner) dlc & is dominator8

@a63nt-5m1th thanks i wanted to replace it with a 1965 corvette
-
@Christopher1972
NiceI found you this searchable GTA 5 Vehicles Database that also contains the in-game spawn names:
https://www.gtabase.com/grand-theft-auto-v/vehicles
Search for vehicle:
Where to Find Spawn Name:
The database seems pretty up-to-date & appears to be maintained on a regular basis, so should fulfill your requirements & cover most, if not all vehicles

@Christopher1972 said in how do you find out the model name to replace a car:
@JohnFromGWN there are a lot of sedans left ..there are supposedly 497 cars in game i have replaced about a hundred..
and you plan on replacing every single vanilla car with modded cars?
Well, good luck with playing at 20 fps with no visible roads and every building being replaced with their vlow lods
and that is assuming you don't have any graphical improvement mods
-
@a63nt-5m1th WHERES THE LINK TO THE SEARCHABLE DATABASE YOU ARE SHOWING ME?
-
@MissySnowie NOT HAVING TROOUBLE WITH BUILDING GRAPHICS
-
Here's the same link here: (I edited both links to make them bigger/easier to see)
https://www.gtabase.com/grand-theft-auto-v/vehicles
Once you click on that^ green link & it opens the gtabase website page, just scroll down to find the vehicle search list
-
Christopher. What @MissySnowie means is that replacing all your vanilla cars, or just too many, will lead to problems.
The vanilla cars in the default game are optimized so you can run the game without a high end PC. If you replace these cars with models that take up more memory, because they have more polygons and/or higher resolution textures, you will eventually have crashes or drops in your FPS or both.
So caution should be exercised regardless of how powerful your PC is because the game will only take so much abuse before it screams and dies on you.
Right?

Follow the link that @a63nt-5m1th provided.
Here it is again.
CLICK THIS LINK -
Next look for the Search for vehicle and enter the name of the car in Filter By.
-
Then hit enter.
I made a video that is hopefully easier to follow.

-
@JohnFromGWN Interesting. So we are limited by the game itself. Just to clarify please. As an exaggerated example say if we ran GTA V on that supercomputer Frontier replacing all vanilla cars with mods plus any other mods and running the game at max settings GTA V will still eventually break?
-
I don't have that answer, but my guess is that indeed the game has its limits regardless of using a super computer.
That's why packfile limit adjusters and mods like no boundaries were created. To push/extend the limits.
Similar logic applies to textures. Try projecting a game with low res textures on a 75 inch TV and they will look even more like crap.

To find out the model name of a car, there are a few steps you can take:
Check the owner's manual: The owner's manual will usually have the make and model of the car listed.
Check the vehicle registration: The vehicle registration will also have information about the make and model of the car.
Look for a sticker or badge on the car: Many cars have stickers or badges that indicate the make and model. These may be located on the back of the car, on the side, or on the engine cover.
Check online: If you know the year, make, and model of the car, you can search online to find more information about it. There are many websites that provide details on different car models, including specifications, reviews, and photos.
Ask a mechanic: If you're having trouble identifying the make and model of your car, a mechanic should be able to help. They can use the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to identify the make and model, and can provide more information about the car's features and specifications.
Once you have identified the make and model of the car, you can then begin the process of replacing it by researching options, comparing prices, and test driving different vehicles.
