My Grand Theft Auto 5 Keeps Crashing And I Don't Know How To Fix It.
-
Hey, my GTA 5 keeps crashing but I don't know how to fix it I tried everything Youtube Videos, TikTok, reddit, google, and I even reinstalled the game 3 times, and its been going on for a long time now. I installed a mod and I believe it broke my game and the more tutorials I watched the worser it got. Its been going on since January the 27th my rockstar launcher will open and it will say its connecting but as soon as GTA will start it closes and takes my back to my desktop, And sometimes it will give me a really quick error message that I wont be able to read at all, My mom got this pc for Christmas and the only thing I wanted to play was GTA but now its a waste. I don't know if I could install it on epic games and it could give me a brand new GTA, cause I installed it on steam, but I don't want to waste any money, (also I tried updating my drivers but I did nothing, and I also tried running the game on administration mode but It didn't work ether) but yeah I tried doing everything I could do but now I have no more options so please help me figure this out, Have A Nice Day!

You can reinstall the game 4, 5, 6, or 20 times and the installer will faithfully do exactly the same thing it did the first time. That's what's great about file operations - they work. If you car is out of gas, do you keep trying to start it over and over? You don't, you go get gas.
The logic works like this. If your game is broken by a mod, why would reinstalling the game make any difference? Only uninstalling the mod/mods will restore your game.
The Youtube videos etc will frequently give you the magic bullet, the quick fix, the 100% guaranteed solution == even though they don't have clue about your hardware, your knowledge of modding, whether your game runs un-modded, if this happened from the start or after a patch, and on and on. Some will even give you terrible advice.
That's what I call the easy method.
The alternative method to Youtube and reddit and quora etc could be called the systematic method - works wonderfully but it takes time and effort.
Since you already tried the easy ones, try this: https://gta5modhelp.blogspot.com/p/troubleshooting_4.html
Guaranteed to work? For me, absolutely. For you? Only if you follow all the steps.
First step is to ensure your game works without any mods installed.
P.S. The Steam version is no different than the Epic Games Version or R* or Retail or whatever.
Game crashes due to modding are 100% due to the user who installed the mods.
