Doing replace cars, but dont want to see everyone driving special cars ie kitt

I have been away from the game for a number of years and have forgotten the old way or replacing cars were you had to make changer in multi files. I use to be able to copy the info from the ruiner to kitt or karr by copying and changing the ruiner name in the files to kitt or karr. If anyone can help I thank you in advance. I would rather have kitt as a single car in game not seen everywhere.
