I cant install gta 5 mods in dlcpack keeps crashing when i click story mode
The problem isn't Menyoo Mod (I think) whatever I remove dlcpacks mods for cars it starts working again
I want to drive cars in GTA 5 again idk why this is not working please help me I do anything whatever I install cars it starts breaking idk why it needs a fix please

I would first check & make sure your DLC.xml file, has all the addon's registered correctly, with correct spelling & no typo's, errors or double-entries.

The file dlclist.xml isn't what usually causes vehicles to crash. Double entries will not cause a crash, absolutely not.
Typos for the vehicle name simply result in the vehicle not loading, no crash.
Syntax errors are generally caught by OpenIV and some minor ones escape but again without loading vehicle.@JayIsEditing
Crashes are much more likely to be caused by not having the proper essential mods installed, particularly the right gameconfig.xml.Hardware and other issues can come into play. You haven't told us anything about your game. The article and video below will hopefully help.

@JohnFromGWN @JayIsEditing My Trouble-shooting suggestions posted weren't meant to be thorough, but to serve as a starting point with the small stuff that tends to get overlook.Then moving your way up to the more complicated stuff like working with a suitable GameConfig.xml file or GPU optimizations. Its the small things that end up counting the most when you least expect it:)

@nj5050 there are hundreds of reasons GTA5 will crash or hang and you may entirely be right that something is wrong with his dlclist.xml. However when the user doesn't provide any other information I go with probabilities, not based on hard data but from experience and this smells like the necessary files such as the proper gameconfig.xml aren't installed.

I added the car addons and discovered that the car addons are causing it to crash but I still want to use car mods
It crashes whatever I add the mods into the dlcpacks but when i remove cars addons it starts working

I am having a bit of the same problem he is ever since I decided to do a fresh install of GTA 5. My issue is with the dlclist when I try to add a car, I put the line in the dlclist, for example, <Item>dlcpacks:/neo_lspdbrigham/</Item>. Once I do it and go to launch my game it either updates the game and removes what i added to the dlclist or if I manage to do with without the game trying to update it will just crash going into the story mode. It worked fine before even the vehicle mod that I am trying to install was working before I did a fresh install because and I have no idea why its doing it now.

@truffleshuffle you need to provide more information. What version of GTA5 etc.

I've never heard or seen any report of a GTA5 game updating itself more than once for same version and definitely not after adding a line to dlclist.xml.
Have no explanation for constant updates until you provide more info.
As for the disappearing entry, are you editing the vanilla copy by mistake?

No, not editing the Vanilia copy. I copy everything to the mods folder I did notice when it does not prompt me to update the game as sometimes it doesn't the game crashes when going into story mode. Not sure exactly why. It was working fine before the fresh installation and the mod I am trying to install I was using. The reason for the fresh installation I was having a texture issue occasionally when exporting my edited recorded clips. It would sometimes have texture loss. Since I had more than just a few mods I figured I would just fresh install everything and not have as many mods but now it's a mess. I just finished fresh installing again so if the issue continues, I will let you know. I may even try and get a video of the issue. I should add that every time it updates or crashes, I try to open OPENIV and I have to run it as administrator because it does not save that I had set permissions.

@truffleshuffle reinstalling is generally just a waste of time and doesn't explain the game constantly needing to update itself.
Is this an old retail version?

I was originally only fresh installing because of the exporting texture loss issue. As I could not figure out what was causing the issue. I thought at first it was the NVE beta I was using but the issue was still happening after I removed it. What do you mean by an older version? If you mean, is it a downgraded version no its not.

@truffleshuffle no, what I meant by retail is are you using physical media as opposed to Steam, Epic, or Rockstar digital downloads.
Steam version, as an example, will never request a random update.

Oh it's Rockstar launcher. I have automatic updates turned off but it won't launch unless it gets an update I do actually have the install cd's somewhere but who knows where those are. I am going to be getting a new PC sometime either later this month or next though so I hope I don't have as much issues

@JohnFromGWN Ok I think when i did the fresh install something screwed up the first time. This time when I reinstalled it again It started working. I have no idea what the cause was but it works fine now. I have tested it with three cars including the one I was having the most issues with and all of them spawn. I want to thank you for your help you were the only reason I didn't just give up on it.
