ARS error

  • I just recently installed the newest version of ARS released (0.8.5) and everyone says it runs fine but when I installed it , it wouldn't open then menu at all. I already hv the pre-requisites but nothing works, even reloading the scripts in-game, I'm using latest SHV and SHVDN 3.6.0.

    Here's my SHVDN log:

  • @RyoW
Sounds like a real pain in the ARS.

  • @JohnFromGWN yea but for others it seems to work fine

  • @RyoW Not sure, I'm just throwing a random guess, but try checking if Read-Only is checked in the xml properties, if so you will need to uncheck it for each xml file.

  • @M8T which xml?

  • @RyoW The ones from the mod.

  • @M8T I checked, none of the xml's are read only

  • @RyoW
I don't use any of these script mods but I'll suggest you temporarily disable all the scripts in your scripts folder except this one and test.
Also, ensure you have the latest version of SHVDN installed. If you screwed around with the ini file or settings, re-download and leave the defaults in for testing.
Finally, if your PC or laptop is very old, make sure you update the dot net framework. The requirements say 4.5.2 but it's unlikely anyone using this mod is using this version in 2023.

The log gives you the cause, but not specific enough. You can also google this error for possible solutions since it is a Windows error, not GTA 5 or mod specific.

System.Xml.XmlException: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.
