Modded game low gpu usage.

  • Hi,

I received my new graphic card (RTX 4080).

So in vanilla i can go to the limit of the card but when i go to the modded game it's difficult to go over 60%.

    I don't understand why.

    I precise i'm on a rig with :

    Ryzen 9 3900X
    RTX4080
    32Gb 3200Mhz

    And i play in 1440p.

Here is a video to be more explicit

    Help appreciated

    What exactly is the limit?
I have similar specs except I have the modest 2070 rather than the flagship 4080. Same CPU, 32GB RAM.
I have vsynch off and can play at over 100 FPS without any texture loss or texture tearing.
My monitor is 1440p, full screen, and even with Forests installed I never go below 60 FPS unless I spawn way too many vehicles simultaneously.

Reset your visual settings, update your drivers, and uninstall any crap visual mods.
Something is definitely wrong with your configuration.

Can i ask your in game settings, with the advanced settings ?

  • @Master_Findus Try using Resource Adjuster mod from zombieguy. GTA V is a CPU intensive game since it was originally made for consoles and them not having powerful GPUs.

If your CPU is has low power though, even with that mod and high GPU you will still be bottlenecked. But I think Ryzen 9 series is powerful enough so your bottleneck is caused by the game's engine design itself. That mod will fix your issue about 80% or so, hell even in my 1660 Super it removes all the texture loss with my very heavily modded game

  • @MissySnowie

The resource adjuster does help, but that's not his problem. I have the same specs but with an inferior graphics card.
I can run anything that mods can throw at me without issues at all.
His 4080 should be able to handle anything as long as he has the right drivers and the right visual settings. Go back to graphic defaults, then start tweaking.

  • @JohnFromGWN I think game is still prioritizing the CPU over GPU. It is impossible though a 4080 would be running at capacity in vanilla gta 5. Even if the game would release both CPU and RAMs and take the entire load to the GPU I don't think it would still be nearly enough to put a 4080 at limit
