Hi, looks like the game is not reading .ydt file it´s just reading .yft... which car are you modding?
-
@Thekingman He said he's trying to replace the Stallion.
-
I'm having the same issue, it was not loading .rar files and now that i've went and extracted with winrar their still not active in game.
-
@FiilthyGore Can you post the following?
- Your game version.
- The vanilla car you are trying to replace.
-
@Akila_Reigns
I'm not sure what game version but the mod is https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/nissan-240sx
I read up and downloaded winrar and now each file gets extracted but still wont load right. I should just be able to F4+Spawn car (the car the mod is replacing)?
-
@FiilthyGore According to the mod description, you should replace the vehicle model in ×64e.rpf.
But since the model is last updated in 2015, an updated model could be in patchday dlcs.
-
@Akila_Reigns
what's x64e.rpf. if you dont mind me asking? I'm new to this modding thing and so far it's been a fail. Everything I've downloaded has files that are unable to be opened.
-
@Akila_Reigns
ahhh ok now I see what you mean, so will the mod file actually replace the rpf file?
-
@FiilthyGore
Wait for 5 minutes. I'll explain everything.

@FiilthyGore
Open the GTA V folder and you will notice some files named from ×64a to ×64w.
Those files are called rpf files.
They can be opened by OpenIV.Steps:
- Download OpenIV : https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/openiv
- Download Script Hook V. https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/script-hook-v
- Copy ScriptHookV.dll and dinput8.dll to the game's root folder, where GTA5.exe is located.
- Start OpenIV, give your GTA V location, and go to OpenIV/Tools/ASI Manager and install OpenIV.asi.
- Then create a folder in the main GTA V folder and name it "mods".
- Copy and paste ×64e.rpf into the mods folder. It should look like mods\x64e.rpf.
- Open the ×64e.rpf inside the mods folder via OpenIV.
- Extract the downloaded mod.
- Put the vehicle files into mods/×64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf.
- Copy and paste the update.rpf to the mods folder. Path should be mods\update\update.rpf.
- Open the update.rpf and go to common/data and extract handling.meta to the desktop.
- Then go to common\data\levels\gta5\ and extract vehicles.meta.
- Open handling.meta via Notepad, and replace the necessary vehicle files, read the readme files inside downloaded mods for understanding what you should replace.
- Do the same for vehicles.meta, and after editing, put the meta files back to their locations and replace.
- Start the game and look for the car, or download a trainer and spawn the car.
This trainer is good: https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav
If the vanilla car spawns even after editing, go to update\x64\dlcpacks\ and you will see some folders called patchday_ng. Those rpfs contain updated versions of vanilla vehicles. After creating a directory for them inside the mods folder, put the vehicle model files into patchday12ng.
-
@FiilthyGore Personally, I prefer installing as an add-on.
Read my tutorial:
https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/1451/tutorial-a-few-things-you-should-learn-to-do-properly-when-installing-mods
It should be useful.

@Akila_Reigns oh ok, well the problem with that one is that you need to put .yft and _hi.yft files in one place and the .ytd , +hi.ytd in other place... so, i don´t know witch version is your game but try this:
- Open "OpenIV"
2.Press"CTRL+F3"
3.Write "stalion.ydt"
4.Wait for results, look for the folder were there is only 2 .ytd files (stalion_hi.ytd and stalion.ytd) make double click on one of them and this will take you to that location.
5.Replace .ytd and close.
- Open "OpenIV"

@Akila_Reigns I think my issue is that I can't open files, I made a MODS folder and moved over the x64e.rpf but when I attempt to open it, it promps me asking how do I want to open the file.
-
@FiilthyGore Open the rpf files via OpenIV
-

-
@FiilthyGore Well, he hasn't given any handling and vehicles meta lines to replace, so skip those steps.
-
@Akila_Reigns haha so since I did everything in the beginning I should be good to go? I really appreciate the time you've taken to help me
-
@FiilthyGore Try running the game. If the vanilla Buffalo appears, do the step I said above about using the patchday dlcs.
-
@Akila_Reigns IT WORKED!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would never have been able to get it done without your help. I've been going a week trying to do it. You rock!!!
-
@FiilthyGore No problem. Glad to have helped.
