car mods not working with Redux

pls can someone help me, i dont get it how to install car mods, i want to install them into my mods folder i created with redux, but they wont work and as soon as i install them in my default game folder it fucks up my game and i need to redownload it

For instance, mine is: M:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks

i havent installed any addon yet, cuz im scared to download the game for the 8th time cuz everytime i install a addon/replace for a car its fucks up my game and i cannot load the game anymore, i dont even know where to install them, cuz i have a mods folder, and when i install any mod not into the mods folder it crashes gam

@byPeaKy If you install an addon and your game doesn't load, then all you have to do is rename your mods folder and it will go back to normal.

Let's just make sure we're doing everything we should before we go any further.

You also have your mods folder setup with the mods\update\update.rpf file installed?

You're right... sorry, I just have this default process in my head.

Okay, so give me a link to an addon car you have, and I will use the same one and we'll try and get that one car working.

@byPeaKy Sure, just downloading them now.

Ok, for the replace (Nissan 350Z) you've already got x64e.rpf in your mods folder from Redux... I installed Redux last night, so I know it copies every file into your mods folder.

So if you open OpenIV and then open it to mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\, you can copy the elegy2.yft, elegy2_hi.yft and elegy2.ytd into there.

Let me know when you've done that... we'll do them one at a time.

i just tried to start game only with nissan installed, instant crash while starting the game

Actually I just need to ask something... when you have let the game download itself again, did you completely clear out the mods folder and then reinstall Redux from fresh?

i downloaded it completely again, means uninstalled the whole game and downloaded it again, copyied the files to the new made mods folder and then installed redux

btw i got it working (nissan) i could spawn it in but for somehow when i tryed to drive it crashed

Ok.. for the lambo...

Copy the lp770r folder from the Add-on section of the download into your dlcpacks folder inside the mods folder, so you should end up with this:

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\lp770r

Go to mods\update\update.rpf\common\data in OpenIV and copy the dlclist.xml file to your desktop.

Open that file and put the line <Item>dlcpacks:\lp770r</Item> as the last entry in the list, so the bottom of your file should look like this:

		<Item>dlcpacks:\lp770r\</Item>
	</Paths>	
</SMandatoryPacksData>

Then copy the dlclist.xml file back into the folder it came from.

Edit: Ignore anything in the readme for that addon about making changes to extratitleupdatedata.meta, it is not needed.

@byPeaKy A couple more things worth mentioning... if you have to delete your mods folder, you shouldn't have to reinstall your whole game again. Just delete the mods folder, create a new one and your original game files will stay untouched.

Also, are you using this gameconfig https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars, or the one that comes with Redux?

havent changed any gameconfig, btw im sooooo thankful lambo is working perfectly, but somehow nissan still crashing

Edit: The Nissan works in my game, so that means that it's not a mod problem.

I'm going to have to go offline for a while now, so here's what I would try next.

Make a backup of the gameconfig you currently have in your game and try the one from that link. I use that one, as do many others and it works great.
Rename your mods folder (just for a short while), create a new one, copy in the update\update.rpf and x64e.rpf, along with that gameconfig and the Nissan replace mod and see if you have the same problem with it crashing.

Do number 2 if number 1 doesn't work.

If the Nissan doesn't crash in the new mods folder, then you know it is a clash with something in Redux. I'll be back online at about 8pm UK time... if you have any success, post back in the thread and I'll check it when I come back online later.
