Handling and vehicle meta file in Update.rpf

  • Quick question: After each new update, does the handling and vehicle meta files in update.rpf update? Or does the new handling/vehicle meta files go with the dlc package in dlcpacks? I am asking because my update.rpf updated and I want to know if I can just overwrite the handling/vehicle meta files with my old ones. or if I need to copy and paste new segments into my old handling/vehicle meta files.

    ( @FoxtrotDelta @Oskar @SkylineGTRFreak @Elope )

  • @nathanjamesddg151 if you had mods folder, nothing gets overwritten right away. but if you didn't have mods folder, everything gets rewritten. vanila things. not addon mods.

  • @FoxtrotDelta Well, I made backups and I use a mods folder, but OpenIV had to update my update.rpf in my mods folder, which has handling and vehicle meta files in them. I'm not sure if those files get updated or not. I don't think so, but I wanted to make sure.

  • @nathanjamesddg151 if you accepted the prompt by openiv, that your update.rpf is outdated. then openiv replaced/updated all files. that includes handling files. too. you will have to manually put them back

  • @FoxtrotDelta I know, but the handling/vehicle meta files don't contain anything new, they are old files that overwrote my custom ones. Nothing new is in them, right?

  • Yeah, nothing new. Just replace them!

  • @Oskar cool! That's what I wanted to hear.

  • @nathanjamesddg151 @FoxtrotDelta @Oskar hey sorry for bothering you guys, except patchday13ng and mpimportexport files in update>x64>dlcpacks , no other files added in the update ? i've added these two manually in my mods file, thanks!

  • @Cerberuss update folder is always updated, that's where the important stuff goes into. like weapons and stuff for online. the exe was also changed, so i don't think mounting only the DLC's would work fully. you might get the vehicles atleast, but they might crash as the support files like, weapons and handling settings are in update.rpf. but i am not 100% sure. i haven't had time to check all the files yet. and some are encrypted files so... there is no way for me to be a 100% sure. let us know if stuff works for you.

  • @FoxtrotDelta i've always added the two previous patchday and mp(dlcname) files like that, it worked perfectly and i had all the new stuff working, just had to put back my custom handling/vehicles.meta files in common>data, and putting back the modded vehicles into the new patchdayng, other than that i don't know, thanks

  • @FoxtrotDelta oh and btw, check the new mpimportexport vehicles technical2 and blazer5 both are drivable
on earth and water, if you'd like to see how it works (if not already known) and the "wastelander" truck has the
vehicle-attaching/towing hooks on top of it, tried some stuff ingame to see if they are usable but couldn't use
them, and i didn't find anything in it's .yft files about the hook, check these 3 out they might be useful

  • @Cerberuss yes im aware of that, but thank you for trying to inform me  i appriciate it. im always on the look out for such info . thanks again.
