MODS Not Working after the recent update

  • Hey as the title says my mods stopped working after the recent gta v update. I even updated the scripthookV and scripthookV Net. Any help will be appreciated.

  • @alphakiller Which mods? Scripts? Add-Ons? etc...

  • @Kwebbl all of the mods that i was using. Redux, some addon cars, enhanced native trainer, bodyguard script and some more scripts. Now no mod works.

  • @alphakiller That's weird. Redux might don't work if Rockstar changed something. Maybe you could give us some screenshots of you GTA Root and mods folder?

  • @alphakiller ScripthookDotNet2? Anyways, it looks fine to me but I have problems too, I can't install more than one Addon. That new update kinda fucked up everything. But I wouldn't know any solution. Sorry but maybe somebody other has an Idea. :/

  • @Kwebbl The new release of ScriptHookVDotNet has changed the name to scripthookDotNet2 and until NativeUI is updated, is causing crashes/problems with any mods using NativeUI.

I installed it into my mod template last night and suddenly, lots of NativeUI things because unavailable. So that means that any existing mods that use those things, are going to crash. :(

Really annoying that they would release it and not tell people that it will affect other mods.

  • @Kwebbl did you try changing you gameconfig.xml for that?

  • @LeeC2202 does redux and addon cars use nativeui?

  • @alphakiller Not sure about Redux, didn't have it on my machine long enough to notice. Addon cars don't use it directly but any scripts you have that use NativeUI could very possibly be crashing.

Did you have this problem before installing the updated ScriptHooKVDotNet?

  • @LeeC2202 nope. i updated my GTA V today. had a 1003 mb update and after that 714 mb update. then after running the game none of my mods were working. i didnt update my scripthookV dot net at that time. after some time thinking what to do i updated my ScriptHookV and dot net but the result was still the same. i dont have any Crashes . my game loads perfectly fine but my mods doesnt work.

  • @LeeC2202 also shouldn't my script mods work after updating the ScriptHookV and ScriptHook dot net?

  • @alphakiller It wouldn't necessarily be a visible crash, it would be an unhandled exception crash which would get picked up by ScriptHookVDotNet. Have you checked the logs for all three, ScriptHookV, ScriptHookVDotNet and asiloader?

  • @LeeC2202 Here's my AsiLoader Log

My OpenIV log is 4372 lines long, so I won't post that.

Are there any errors in your ScriptHookVDotNet logs? You don't need to post them, they're usually quite large, but just do a quick check for any errors.

  • @alphakiller Sure, if I add a second one I just get an infinite loading screen. And if I use another gameconfig it just crashes.

  • @LeeC2202 Those are actually my complete ScriptHookV and asiloader logs. i don't have any logs for ScriptHookVDotNet and i don't see any errors in my logs. Maybe i should run my game again and check. if the logs remain same then something is definitely wrong.

  • @alphakiller There's definitely something wrong. Delete all log files, run the game, then check them again. You don't need to repost them but let us know if there is any major difference or not.

ScriptHookVDOtNet logs are usually named like this: ScriptHookVDotNet2-2016-12-17.log

  • @LeeC2202 lol. i deleted my log files. Ran the game. Then quit the game. Opened my GTA V folder to check the log files. But this time there were no log files.

  • @alphakiller LOL, I wasn't expecting that as your next post... Okay, just give me a minute, let me try and get a process into my head.

  • Okay... I think my first suggestion would be to remove the existing dinput8.dll, ScriptHookV.dll and ScriptHookVDotNet2.asi and if you have any other asi based mods , move them out of your main folder as well, just for the time being.

Rename your mods folder and rename your scripts folder.

Then add dinput8.dll, ScriptHookV.dll and ScriptHookVDotNet2.asi back from your downloads and then run the game. Let's see if wee can at least get some logs of any kind from the basic files.

  • @LeeC2202 xD Also there is one thing that i didn't mention because i thought it doesn't matter . So the thing is Today when i was updating my GTA V the first update was of 1003 MB in size. The launcher downloaded the file with no errors. Then there was the next update of about 713 MB. When the launcher finished the update i got an error saying "GTA V isn't installed on your pc". So that update wasn't installed . I was getting that error because few days back i reset my Windows and because of that my registry files for GTA V were deleted. After that i Created the registry files myself and i went to the windows temp folder and copied the update file to my secondary drive and ran it and it installed smoothly. after that i ran GTA Online and it worked fine. So after a while i went back to singleplayer with my mods enabled and then i noticed that none of my mods were working. after that i updated my both ScriptHook files and still none of my mods were working. I don't think so that update did anything wrong. Still i have attached my GTA V Registry FIles. You can take a look if you want.

  • @alphakiller LOL, there's another registry entry that GTAV needs, give me a minute to remember where it is. It's under a GUID number so it's not obvious.

Edit: And if you have any more surprises... now's the time to get them out in the open. :D

Here's what you should also have in your registry. The GUID number will be different, but the right hand side should all exist. If you search for support.rockstargames.com, it should get you to that entry, if it exists.

The install source will be different because I used the setup tool to reinstall after an OS wipe.

  • @LeeC2202 Sorry to Disappoint you but that's the only surprise i had xD . but even tho i reset my windows my mods were working fine on the previous patch. This only happened after the 944 patch

  • @alphakiller :D If that registry entry is missing, then it might need a bit more of an in-depth solution but we shall see.
