i want to make new car, started from the modeling, what should i know?
-
modeling is WIP in 3ds Max for now
and i can't find any tutorials about started from nothing, without export models from other game.
anybody got helpful information or tutorials for me?WIP model is Hyundai Starex(iLoad) and replace model will be Moonbeam
and what i can do is modeling and texturing
i don't know about rigging but i think i can use bones from Moonbeam right?

@Frazzlee Rigging a model can mean anything from applying a skin modifier to a biped, binding a mesh to a skeleton/bones, or attaching mesh objects to dummy objects.
It's basically any process that attaches a mesh to a control object of some kind.

@Frazzlee Enough... this is a request thread from someone seeking help.
You told them that rigging isn't used on cars, which I politely explained was wrong.
You told me "no-one calls it that" and I pointed out the fact that FoxtrotDelta does but if that's not good enough, then consider the fact that Autodesk does as well. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/getting-started/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax-Tutorial/files/GUID-071E81FC-CB63-4959-A49B-4D93F7C1806C-htm.html
I'm not derailing a valid topic into a gif war simply because you seem to object to me posting valid and relevant information. So let's have no more gifs posted.

ok.. all i got from here is some gifs..

@Harley-Kim You're right and I apologise for my part in contributing to that.
All gifs will be removed to prevent them from being a distraction.

@Harley-Kim Are you looking for tutorials on the Max modelling/rigging side of things or for using ZModeler?
There are some good tutorials on the forum here, but they're more for the ZModeler part of the process.
It's a long time since I did any Max modelling with cars, so I can't offer much help on that side of things. If you're used to rigging mesh objects with bones/helpers/dummy objects then that part of it will be something you can relate to fairly quickly. Zmodeler is a pretty steep learning curve, simply because it is very unintuitive for anyone used to using 3DS Max.
I think all the rigging is done in ZModeler, so it's just a case of getting your mesh grouped into the right objects. If you open the Moonbeam in OpenIV, you can see how the parts are split up, so that will probably help as well.
If you can provide a bit more info on what parts you need more help with though, then it will help us find you the right information to get you up and running.

@LeeC2202 ok i think what i need to know is split model after export from 3ds Max and rigging skills from ZModeler.
more i want to know is about car body texture. I saw tire or light texture but not the body.

@Harley-Kim It might be good to start with these https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/2704/conversion-tutorial-convert-cars-to-gta-v-from-gta-sa-iv-forza-project-cars-video
And possibly this https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/894/import-forza-models-on-zmodeler-3-before-converting-for-gta-v-video and this will help https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/46/install-import-export-a-vehicle-in-zmodeler-3-and-then-on-the-game-video-english-french
