Aircraft Carrier (Full Interior/Map Object)
-
@nathanjamesddg151 may be in six months time, me and skyline can learn , 3ds max and map building stuff. it will be handy. as i do plan on learning this in near future.
-
@Oskar said in Aircraft Carrier (Full Interior/Map Object):
If we would add in the carrier as a prop, we could make it move around the map.
How exactly would that work? Like with a script?
-
@nathanjamesddg151 i think he means, just as people move around the yacht and some scirpts even allow for it to be driven/sail on water.
-
@FoxtrotDelta Oh... Well I was kind of hoping we could populate it and make it like Fort Zancudo. But for that to happen, it would have to be stationary.
-
@nathanjamesddg151 we shall have all these answers , once the openiv team releases the liberty city map for gta 5. with it, i suppose as @SkylineGTRFreak said, they might release openiv version 2.9 with map building tools and some plugins for 3ds max. with those released & once we take a good look at them, on how they made it. we can have clear answers.
-
@nathanjamesddg151 @FoxtrotDelta I was talking about really moving it around the map and not just teleporting it like the Yacht in GTA Online.
-
@Oskar yea. that's what i meant also
-
@Oskar That's what I thought you meant, but, like, how would that work?
-
Well there are scripting natives to move entities like objects, vehicles, etc.
-
@Oskar will it look realistic? Or if we are using map editor or something, could we "populate" the carrier and make it like a military base?
-
@nathanjamesddg151 It wouldn't react to waves but it would still look pretty cool. And yeah we could populate it but I don't know how NPCs would react to movement lol
-
@Oskar they'd fly and hit a wall and stay there, probably.
-
@nathanjamesddg151 If it doesn't move to fast, maybe they would stay on but I have no idea cause I've never tried anything like that
-
@nathanjamesddg151 if you remeber the video of my chinese Aircraft carrier. that is what could happen most probably when moving it.
-
@Oskar A Nimitz Class has a top speed of around 43 knots - or roughly 50 mp/h (80.4 km/h). That is pretty fast.
-
@nathanjamesddg151 if the speed/acceleration is built up steadily without jerks or sudden outbursts, the peds remain stationary. you can check this by standing on top of a moving truck on road. or a moving boat. ped does not fall unless the jerk/ acceleration is too sudden and too much.
-
@FoxtrotDelta yeah, but can they walk around? or will they fly around and die from blunt force trauma?
-
@nathanjamesddg151 But the question is, will it be too fast for NPCs?
-
@nathanjamesddg151 just spawn a npc on top of a truck and see what happens.
you will need to input acceleration and deceleration force somehow in the script. but i have no experience with this. and it kinda sounds all talk no action at the moment. so im going to leave it at this.
-
@Oskar Probably... Maybe if it the top speed were 15 mph it would be easier, plus if it sails around the map, then that would be the right speed considering the size of the map.
-
@FoxtrotDelta We don't know if a NPCs acts the same on a vehicle instead of a prop.
-
@Oskar That is true.
-
@Oskar as for a test, could you try it with one of the flat surfaces from the stunt update and pplace a ped on top of it? Idk, just brainstorming. Then again, it might be too early to do this

Hi, excuse me for my bad english level. I'm Leo from Argentina.
I saw that nathanjamesddg151 said he has this 3d model
https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/uss-reagan-cutaway-aircraft-carrier-3d-obj/760262I'd like to use this model as a reference to design maps for a videogame.
Maybe It is a crazy idea and I will not get anywhere, but I want to try.Right now I can't buy it because it is very expensive to me
It looks that nathanjamesddg151 is not reading messages, but maybe he shared this model with someone on this forum.
I would appreciate if you could send me a copy of this model (by email or a download link). Could that be possible? I thank you in advance.
