Can't install uniform mod

  • Hey guys,

I've been trying to get this working for hours now, but it won't work.
Specifically, I mean this particular mod: https://de.gta5-mods.com/player/german-cop-polizei-muenchen
I used OpenIV and replaced all the files with it that were in the .rar
I've tried making a "mods" folder in the game directory with "update" folder, x64e and x64v -> no luck
I've tried just replacing the files without making a mods folder in the game directory -> no luck
I've tried putting a mods folder with "update" folder, x64e and x64v in the Rockstar Games directory -> no luck

When I do the first and last method, the game doesn't even know that I tried to install a mod, it works but it doesn't show me the skin.
When I do the 2nd method though, the game doesn't start up and says that some files are broken so I have to recover it with my backup files.

Anyone knows what to do? Am I missing something? This is my first time installing mods for GTA 5.

  • @chest159 You need an asi loader http://gtaforums.com/topic/798272-tut-use-openiv-mods-folder-keep-your-original-gta-v-folder/
and always use a mod folder, because rockstar will force your launcher to redownload the original game files

  • wait x64v it x64w fix you stuff mate look up on youtube how to setup mods or how to install outfit mods on gta 5 or something that will be a lot more helpful and you only need the update folder x64e x64i and x64w. Hope ive been a little helpful so have a nice weekend

  • I'm having the EXACT same problem as you. Installed a bunch of mods but the one thing that won't work is cop uniforms. I was able to change the swat members with this mod (https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/police-and-fbi-special-forces-swat-retexture) but when it came to a cop uniform mod such as this (https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/project-actpol-act-policing), only the hat shows up but not the actual uniform. And yes my x64e folder is in my mod folder in my GTA directory. If anyone can figure out this problem, it'd be a big help to me as well!

  • Ok so I installed yet another SWAT uniform mod and that definitely works! (https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/chicago-swat). So it really is just the cop uniforms that won't change no matter what. OP see if you can change the swat uniform, that'll narrow the problem down.

  • Bump, still no solution.

  • Bump again.....

  • @waynechriss @chest159

In the mods you downloaded you should have at least 1 (the .ytd for textures) or the 4 files if it changes everything on the ped
look at the read me in the mods you downloaded it will tell you where you have to put your files.

make sure to Copy all your rpf files and your update folder and put it in a new folder called "mods" (in gta v directory)
use open iv in edit mode, install the asi loader and you can mod your game.

exemple for your cop uniform you have :
    The 4 files named

    • s_m_y_cop_01.ydd
    • s_m_y_cop_01.yft
    • s_m_y_cop_01.ymt
    • s_m_y_cop_01.ytd
      goes in
      Mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday9ng/dlc.rpf/x64/models/cdimages/patchday9ng.rpf

Because x64e is a default game archive and a lot of default games files are updated in dlcpack, x64w and update.rpf
so check the dates on the mods you downloaded because sometimes the location of the file have changed due to updates by rockstar
