Can we please have something in the FAQ about thread hijacking?
-
Probably one of the most annoying things for a problem solving thread, is random questions from people trying to hijack the threads with their own questions, because they see someone providing answers.
Is it possible we could add something to the FAQ that discourages this kind of thing? I know it will probably go unread like FAQs seem to do by some new users but then again, we might get lucky and people will take notice of it.
This was highlighted just a few minutes before posting this, in a rather worrying thread from a user that is getting malware type behaviour from either a mod or an infected dinput8.dll. Someone pops up with "How do u get the download on to ur game", so you then have to drag the thread sideways trying to deal with that, in the middle of what could be a major issue.

@LeeC2202 Best bet is to just flag the post so it's removed. As you've seen, the FAQs don't mean much to these kinds of posters that don't read anything around them and just post their questions wherever. I'll still add it, but I doubt it'll do much.
-
@rappo If flagging them is okay, then I'm happy to do that. I just didn't want to heap even more work on the moderators/admins with chasing that kind of post as well.
-
@LeeC2202 Yeah of course... don't hold back from flagging things, that's the whole point of the feature
-
@TobsiCred They're the best ones when they play the "Let's see how many threads I can post the same question on before people work out what I'm doing and get mad" game.
-
Can somebody do a moneydrop for me? i can't install mods..
Please (ps4)

@Frazzlee Maybe he was just kidding, like TobsiCred did, otherwise, ironic indeed.

@Daanii1301 Here ya go, there's a couple of quid there I think... it's just behind my chair on the floor... couldn't drop it on my ps4, it's downstairs.

@Daanii1301 this account has been flagged. And that comment too. This website does not support or facilitate cheating. Also this website is dedicated to pc version of the game, that too only for offline story mode.
You left your username open for people to see hoping someone will help You cheat. If you were a little bright. You would know , by doing this you, have given others a way to report you to rockstar. You might get banned within next five days even if you have not cheated yet, too sad for you. I advise you to take your username off, if you care. I won't do that for you.
Secondly if you did cheat you would be banned quickly as money drops and memory manipulations are detected ever since March 2016. Best way rockstar allows for in-game money are shark cards. This is just for your info.
Please read the forum guidelines and FAQs. I hope I was clear.

@LeeC2202
That one is golden.
@Daanii1301 Since @FoxtrotDelta said what needs to be said, I'll post this GIF. LMAO. Literally.
-
@LeeC2202 If you needed further proof of "people don't read things"...
-
@Frazzlee they never went away. Its just that there is 99% probability of getting banned if one uses them.

I don't get it. What's hard about adding an orange line of text that says "GTA5Mods Forum disallows thread hijacking, talk of online modding", whatever you want to list.

@krashadam Sure, it's added to the rules now: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/8/gta5-mods-com-community-guidelines
My point was that I don't think it's really going to stop the issue, but I've added it to the rules so users can be linked to it if they continue to hijack threads.
