Weather + Time script changer

  • A script that changes the weather depending on the time ? which i can set in a ini file....

  • This post is deleted!

  • @Frazzlee Nah,i have no mood for coding.
Well i just want to make a simple change like at day time its clear and at night its extra sunny.

  • @JRod It's almost 5am here, so I can't do this now... but if nobody else picks this up, I'll have a look later... probably 8 or so hours from now.

During that time, you need to add more details about what you want to have control over and how you want to be able to change it.

  • @LeeC2202 Oh shit it's going to happen :)
Lets see,in the ini you will have all the day's hours, each hour for example
    1:00pm=clear
    2:00pm=clear
    ...
    ...
    ...
    8:00pm=extra sunny
And just incase you have time set frooze the scrip should be able to override the trainer and change the weather.

  • @Frazzlee I guess that override thing isn't important anyway since this script whould force the weather that we want in the ini anyway.

  • @Frazzlee That's why it should be mentioned in the description to have that option OFF.

  • @JRod What @Frazzlee is saying is right, there is no guarantee that this script would override the trainer setting, or any other script that does the same thing for that matter.

But as I wouldn't be releasing this on the site, this is just a personal mod for you, that probably won't matter. Just be aware that something could take control of the weather outside this script.

So if there are only two weather types, and the weather only changes once per day, would you really need to set the weather every hour? Or do you want to be able to change between the two during the day as well?

  • @LeeC2202 Setting it within the hour gives more control,so it would change exactly when i want, and i might be using more than just two weathers for example at North Yankton a couple of hours cloudy then overcast then snow etc.
And thanks a lot for considering this.

  • @LeeC2202 And why not release this to the public ? it's a useful mode, some people (likemyself) would like to see specific weathers during gameplay.

  • @JRod Because releasing it to the public means supporting it and I don't have time for that right now.

  • Hmmm, there seems a brutal way to deal with this and the subtle way that I just can't get to grips with.

Forcing the weather is simple, and I had that working a while ago but it really irks my artist side to see the weather perform an instant swap from one weather type to the other. I just can't get a handle on the weather transitions, to make things seem more fluid and natural though.

I'm going to have to do some digging in the scripts to see if I can get some more help from there.

  • @Jitnaught oh shieeeeeeeeeet thanks man

  • @JRod So how'd it go... does the mod work like you wanted it to work?

I know it isn't my mod you're using but as I answered the request originally, I just wanted to see if things worked out okay.

  • @LeeC2202 Yeah thanks at first is wan't working now it is,thanks a lot.
    It got featured :)

  • @JRod Glad you got it to work :)
