[Request] Working Weapons on Boats/ships/subs



  • if you guys have , any creative , bright ideas , on how to add working Weapons on boats, please share here. i am in the process of making a few big boats. and 2 submarines , but i lack any scripting or handling.meta knowledge , is it possible to add weapons on boats?

  • @FoxtrotDelta I know there are boats with guns in RDE but I didn't check if the gun work yet ,

  • @cgz LmAo ! the image you just shared, i was making this Boat right now :D i actully have it 80% done. where is it? is this a mod ? or is it located inside a dlc from rockstar? and what does "RDE" stand for?



  • @cgz just found out "Realism dispatch Mod" i never used it. i guess i better check it out.

    Boat in picture comes from the same person that posted topic on gtaforums ^^ Boat Mod

    About script none at the moment , in menyoo you have vehicle rocket mode , dunno if it works with boats



  • @ChOcOsKiZo damn i was making a simple version of that boat. 5 minutes ago. anyways its an experiment. i might release it after some modification and simplificatoin. thanks guys :) @cgz @ChOcOsKiZo both of you were , very Helpful.



  • @FoxtrotDelta Yep it's that , a big mod which add a lot of gameplay , If you are tired of seeing always the sames cops.

  • @cgz for some reason i can't open the image you just posted but, yes i was thinking myself of adding a Flag. and 2 more lights . damn he even used the same model i was using. but he has extra bars and stuff there mine, does not have that. i shall make it a simple one.



  • @cgz @ChOcOsKiZo his boat crashes my game. and it says on his page, that the boat turrent does not work. hmm. i am trying something, i made this boat just for weapons. its sad if they can't be used. this is a test bed, for my Aircraft carrier as well.



  • @FoxtrotDelta As a general rule, from what I gather, weapons have to be custom scripted for boats. There is no blanket script for it (yet?). You should ask a scripter like @Oskar, who has a little experience with boat weapon scripts to see if he could create a blanket script for aquatic weapons. Although, I believe if that were the case, we wouldn't be attaching a secondary vehicle to the James for her weapons. There are other issues as well, like turret rotation and apparently aiming. As for the handling/vehicle meta files, I believe that those were ruled out as the source for non-functioning aquatic weapons.



  • @FoxtrotDelta @nathanjamesddg151 You know what?that's the RHIB and the Sub I've been talking over and over....and the weapon never worked,and for that,skyline has been asking for ideas like for months......



  • @nathanjamesddg151 @Elope well, i guess i shall be releasing the aircraft carrier without the Weapons initially as a Beta version. i am tired of that carrier. i hate boats! i want to go back to vehicles and Aircraft modding :P



  • @nathanjamesddg151 @cgz @ChOcOsKiZo @Elope if i use , seaplane's handling and vehicles.meta everything works fine. even weapons work fine. the carrier can sail on water perfectly and even has Yaw capabilities, working doors, lights, landgear animations, landing deck catapult doors animation, all seem to work fine, its just that, it flies into the air unrealistically, i have tried to take away its pitch away so that it wont pitch and fly. but yet some times it jumps by waves and keeps flying straight in the air, may be i shall make it more heavy and slower. @Oskar



  • Sounds interesting. If that doesn't work I can probably help with the weapons and doors in the future.



  • @FoxtrotDelta try to remove the flying data in handling.meta?



  • @Elope if it do that. it crashes the game! but i made pitch 0.0000 and roll 0.0000 in handling.meta. its buggy. sometimes crashes the game. i don't know the exact reason right now. it will take time to make it work. i think @SkylineGTRFreak tried this method already as well. because i can see , jamestest.meta and handling in the dlc. navy. i think he tried this approach already. anyways it would be Awsome if it worked.



  • @FoxtrotDelta Yea I did try this method... Not satifying for me.

    ALso that Rhib boat and Submarine were made by me and implemented into RDE. It was my first boat mod and the first time I found out that weapons don't work on boats natively...



  • @SkylineGTRFreak that was long time ago, i hope Rockstar releases a dlc with weapons on boats. anyways thanks for the reply.
