Steam files - GTA5.exe & GTA5Launcher.exe
-
Hey.
I recently backup one of my modded GTA folders with LSPDFR v877/136, I moved most of the crucial files except the small ones I thought I could just reacquire from steam.
After hours I narrowed it down to GTA5.exe & GTA5Launcher.exe, Both these files are updated to the latest patch and won't allow me to play with them.
Is it possible to get these 2 files back for the proper patch for steam? I haven't been able to load up my GTA in weeks now and I've put a few upgrades into my pc -.-.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've tried troubleshooting the problem for a few days now and I'm stuck.

@LauraXo Go into the Steam client, go to your game library, right-click on Grand Theft Auto V, Click Properties (at the bottom of the pop-up menu), Go to Local Files and click "Verify integrity of game files..."
That will check all of your game files and will replace any that are wrong, damaged or missing.

@LeeC2202 Thanks for the reply LeeC2202.
My GTA5 is perfectly fine running at the current patch with/without mods.
Verifying the integrity does supply me with the required files but they are one patch ahead. I need GTA5.exe & GTA5Lancher.exe for patch 877.1/1.36 (So I can run LSPDFR with ragehook).
I did not copy over my ragehook backup for the patch sadly. I thought I had all required files but I wasn't aware those 2 files are updated as well.
There are websites that offer patches/files I require but they are for pirated versions that don't offer Social club/Steam support which is just trash to me.

@LauraXo Ah, so LSPDFR doesn't run with the latest version of the game? That's not an ideal situation.
You will also need the update.rpf file for 877 as well I believe, along with the Social Club installer for that version. As far as I know, you can't just replace the exe files to go back a version. The problem is, they can't be passed to you in the forum, for copyright reasons, so you would have to find someone that could do it privately...
Not sure how easy it is going to be to find someone with old Steam versions though to be honest.

@LeeC2202 It is not the ideal situation indeed
I have all required files to run 877 as I backup (or so I thought) most of the important files. I did not realize these two files were that important.
I'm sure there are a ton of people running LSPDFR @ patch 877 since it was the last supported patch with it, I sadly don't have any contacts to grab the files privately. It's silly that steam doesn't allow you to download past patches.

@LauraXo Have a read of this... https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/3een0x/how_to_downgrade_gta_v_to_earlier_patches/

@LeeC2202 I've encountered this thread countless times. The files they offer are either for pirated version of GTA5 or non-steam. They don't load my social club so I can't access the game.
Again thank you for your time Lee.
-
@LauraXo Ah... I didn't realise that about those files, sorry.
-
@LeeC2202 Not a problem. It took myself hours to narrow down the problem and the fix x_x
Is it against the rules to possibly ask any community member here running LSPDFR to PM me a possible upload?
-
@LauraXo Asking isn't a problem, it's just that whoever can help can't post links openly on the forum. It's just something to protect the site with regards to copyright.
I've seen several threads asking similar things and someone usually pops up to help, it's just a case of finding the right person.

@LeeC2202 Haha good good. I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
Hopefully someone will pop in here and give a helping hand, The community here is pretty good. I guess this thread is a good start.

So I've decided to try and post a request here, If anyone reading this thread can spare some time it be humbly grateful.
If anyone can get the chance to PM/Skype me.
A little info..
If you're running LSPDFR with the bikers DLC update through steam, you may have those files.
- GTAVLauncher .exe - Product version 1.0.877.1
- GTA5 .exe - Product version 1.0.877.1
- Files must have been obtained from STEAM in the past (No pirated/cracked files)
The two files are roughly 70mbs together.
Please don't post any links in this thread!
