Can you change your physical appearance?

I was wondering, are there mods to change the physical appearance of your character model? Been perusing the 'player' mods, but all I see is mods to change peds (although often in a setting which suggests they're used for the player).
Also, if it's possible, I assume it can't be done in story-mode, right? But if that is indeed not possible, wouldn't you get immediately banned if you tried a mod like that in Online mode?!
Guess I'm not understanding the process here.

@meimeiriver If I understood you, your question means more towards the skin and player model changed, if thats the case, many of the trainers have that option.

You can change the player's model with one you like, but don't go online with those changed settings, else you may get banned.

I already have Simple Trainer installed, so guess I missed that options amongst so many goodies therein.
