@nkjellman If you could teach me or point me to a tutorial where they explain how, I would love to make an application that generates the files for it. I want people to be able to add stuff with just drag and drop, you know?

@sollaholla They will need to edit a few files. It is similar to adding a vehicle, except it is weapons.

@nkjellman Are you familiar with creating YMAP's in DLC that includes peds, cars, weapons, and vehicles?

@sollaholla Not sure about peds. I have been wondering that myself for sometime now so I can fix the missing peds for the police station and bank when the mp maps are enabled.
I can do it, but I need to do it by hand.

@ismailmoustafa0802 Maybe a month, I can say, at this point we're just adding stuff to make it prettier. But no promises.

Custom (non-replaced) weapons might be a thing, guys! I got a lot of new info about weapons, and I'm working on making a sci-fi addon pack. Wish me luck!

@NotCrunchyTaco Yeah that might be the problem to be honest. The issue with it is: I added all the necessary weapon meta / xml files, and everything but the rest of the weapons in the game are missing their components. Sounds like something in the game is getting limited, so it may be the config.

@sollaholla Yeah, the game doesn't really like addons. There's also tons of gameconfigs that support lots of weapons, cars, peds, etc... But, if you have no luck you can even try to edit the gameconfig.xml

I think it's safe to say that weapon components aren't possible for custom dlc.

@sollaholla Correction: They aren't possible with the current tools.
Personally, I would rather have add on weapons I can't mod than replace the existing ones.

@sollaholla @nkjellman have you two tried adding new custom weapons.meta and weaponcomponent.meta files to say patchday10 or patchday12 dlc folders? You will have to edit the content.xml and add those meta files in so they are read by the dlc folder.

@nkjellman They will be addons, and no, the only way to add custom components is to edit internal files such as
update.rpf/dlc_patchfiles. Same with weapon txd's that display the icon in the weapon wheel. I should correct myself and say it is possible, but not in a single dlc. Just to clarify, none of the weapons in the space mod will be replacements.@Willief23 I'm not going to be editing default game files to suit my needs, everything will be in 1 dlc pack just like any other mp dlc.
Doing hours of extensive research and decompilation, all files that have a weaponComponent meta files, are marked as CRC dlc definitions. CRC (cyclic redundancy check) definitions can be found in the content.xml files of all weapon addon packages. These file definitions are validated by the game using
update.rpf/dlc_pach/[thedlc]and the.metafiles are concatenated onto the original.metafiles that can be found incommon.rpf/data/.I will not be doing this, because I don't want to edit any external rpf files, besides update.rpf which contains dlclist.xml
