Does not have current update

so the latest update for grand theft auto was released recently but I seemed to have been left out. I have put in the right file codes in "dlclist" and "extratitleupdate" files but when I started the game it crashes on loading. so I deleted the lines and everything works fine again.... any suggestions or links that could point me in the right direction, but please do not put a rockstar link because they do not help

@Hades-v-Rekoilz I can't make the connection with the title of the thread and what you have posted. Could you please explain how not having the current update fits into your problem? Are you on the latest game build of 944 or a different version?

@Hades-v-Rekoilz You don't have to manually install the updates, as Rockstar takes care of that. Are you using a legally bought coopy?

I have purchased the game the day it came out on PC through steam, it says I am using the current version of the game yet I do not have the cars or anything else that was released with the latest update.

@Hades-v-Rekoilz When you run the game, what version number is shown in the bottom-right corner of the loading screen?

@LeeC2202 @Akila_Reigns I do use mods on the game and do not go online with them. but I wouldn't think the mods would conflict with the update like this.
