How to Remove All Mods?

  • Hey I wanted to know how can I remove all the mods that I've installed without going through a hassle!

(I'm currently playing GTA V via Steam client).

  • @RzRGameR Can you please be more specific? What type of mods? Car mods? Script mods? Map mods? Are you using a mods folder? Did you change original in-game files?

    J

  • @RzRGameR If you're using the "mods" folder in OpenIV, you can just delete that folder. If you've installed scripts and the Script Hook, you can just delete those files, too. If you replaced original game files and didn't back up, you'll have to re-install the full game.

  • I think that if you have the game on steam you can right click on GTA V in your library and go to properties>local files>verify integrity of game cache. I am not 100% sure, but I guess it's worth a try.

    Steam Version:

@Spoderpug He's right. If you are using the Steam version, I would suggest right-clicking on the GTA V image in the Library, then selecting "Properties, followed by the "Local Files Tab" and finally clicking on "Verify integrity of game cache". Reason being, only those files with an md5 different than the original, will be replaced with a new one.

    RG version:

    1. First, go where you have installed the GTAV.exe. For example: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAVLauncher.exe

    2. Now create a shortcut of gtavlauncher.exe, right click and hit proprieties, now you have to add -verify after your directory here an example: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAVLauncher.exe -verify. Apply and save.

    3. Left-click on the shortcut and the verification will begin!

A file with an md5 different than intended occurs when and only when the file is either corrupt or modified.

As you can imagine, if you have modified only 3 files, you will have only those 3 files replaced, and as a bonus (doesn't everyone love a bonus?), any file that is corrupt.

I do hope this helps. If ye' need anything, I'd be glad to help :)

While this works, you will have to remove scripts and some addon files manually
