[Feature Request] Descriptive File Size (+Virus Scan Before Uploads)

So, I got real annoyed when I had to click download to get a pop up from Mozilla so I can see the size. Can we say "fuck that shit", and get a file size tab under the description, or even next to the name?
As for the virus scan thing, I know we can use VirusTotal, but who said it was any safer, let alone true about what it shows from scanned files?
In my opinion, the main site should have a feature where when it gets pended, the site checks the file for any kind of virus (whether it shows code that for 1 reason or another goes straight to your pictures, your documents, your PC, your hard drive, your datastick, your DVD, your CD, or worse... the critical files of the operating system.) It should just check for anything that's harmful, let's not have to use virustotal, because again, who said it was any safer?

How would you suggest this be done? I would need to use a virus scan API, and VirusTotal is one of the very few options out there, so it's the same thing.
