[VEHICLE] BMW 540i 2017' G30

  • Hi Guys!
    Let's say I got a 3DS MAX Modell of a car - the brand new BMW 5 Series G30 - but it's way to detailed (900K polys), is there any way or any guy who's able to convert that into a GTA V Mod?

    I fell in love with that car on Saturday, where I attended some kind of release party and my local dealership and I'd love to see it in Los Santos!

    The model included every single bit of the car (int and ext, textures & stuff)

    Anyone out there with an idea? Let me know!

  • @Alba 900K polys? Probably won't survive in the game. Not my call though, just saying, performance is a biggie.

  • @Alba You need to apply retopology optimizing the mesh to reduce the poly count without lost detail in the model. If you convert the model in 900k polys, the game can run in High-End PCs, but in lower PC specs, sure the lags, models and textures dissapearing, or game crashes will happens in too many users. A value of ~65000 (maximun ~90000) polygons for vehicles is the recomended, but some modders abuse about that causing glitches.

  • Wouldn't it be a huge advantage for someone who's skilled in modelling to already have an existing model? I mean, is it possible to build a 90K poly model around the original 900K?

    I also got one with 200K, which is also fine. How about that one?

  • @Alba yeah is possible, the vehicles can be well optimized and the model of that BMW has a lot of flat zones where the optimization sure can be applied without affect the shape.

  • Well, that sounds absolutely amazing even though it will be difficult for sure. Who's the master of modelling in our community? Maybe tag him so we can talk about some kind of collaboration!

  • Well, modders with retopology and optimization knowledge, I just know to SkylineGTRFreak (https://www.gta5-mods.com/users/SkylineGTRFreak).

    I know too how to do retopology but I'm focused in mods based in movies like the Green Goblin done by JulioNIB.

  • @Alba sorry mate, this is not really my field of expertise (civ cars). On top of that I have my hands full at the moment :/ 3DS Max would probably be able to cut down the polycount, but 900k... You'd still have a huge polycount even after crunching. Not only that, but LOD models would need to be done from scratch probably.

  • @Alba i already have a model too . and thats 2 million polygons, my model can be used or yours with 900k polygons as well thats not a problem to comvert it.

    In return i would say 35$ donation should be enough for my work. If u are interested let me know here, or inbox or my facebook. It can be done i do it often (optimiting and lowering polycount without loosing details)

    Im just waiting for a donation, there is no reason for me to start a mod with 50 hours work without any return. I have both models in hq from hum 3d
