Questions

  • Finally got LSPDFR to work, now let's say I want to play online, how do I make sure all mods and extras are gone?

  • @gtaenthusiast It would be a lot easier if you carried this on in the existing question... but anyway.

The most common way of using GTAV online and offline, is to have two copies of the game folder. I actually posted quite a bit of info on this in another thread.

Have a read through this comment and the one after it. https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/1451/tutorial-grand-theft-auto-v-modding-a-few-things-you-should-know/81

The problem is however, you've modded the original game files, so this won't work unless you go back to a completely clean game and start all over again, or you make a copy of your current folder and then verify the files in one of those copies. Either way, you need to create a clean game with a set of unmodified files.

  • @LeeC2202 explain on how to avoid modding original files?

Also what are keys for LSPDFR , do I need addons to stop people?

  • @gtaenthusiast You create a folder in your main game folder called mods. Inside that folder you create another called update. You copy the update.rpf file from Grand Theft Auto V\update into your new Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update folder.

That is your basic mods folder configured. OpenIV will now recognise that and if you try and modify any normal game files, it will ask if you want to copy the file to your mods folder first. Just make sure to set OpenIV to Edit mode to make any changes.

Your mods folder is basically a copy of the main game folder. So anything you add, has to match the same relative path from the main game folder.

So Grand Theft Auto V\update\x64\dlcpacks becomes Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks and that is where you install addon cars/planes/helicopters etc...

When a mod tells you to modify the dlclist.xml, you will replace it in Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data. A new gameconfig.xml will go into the same location.

I have no idea about LSPDFR I'm afraid, it uses the Rage plugin which I refuse to install on my PC.

  • @LeeC2202 Why do you not uninstall RAGE?

Also is there a VIDEO TUT for what you said. I have a copy backed up of original game files too.

I don't understand that question. Why do I not uninstall RAGE from where?

No idea about video tutorials, I have never used any but there might be some on YouTube.

  • I meant why you not use rage?

  • @gtaenthusiast Because it installs a load of junk into your game folder and the one time I did install it, my account was immediately compromised with someone else's email address.

I do not trust it and will never use it.
