Hide car radio panel?

  • MODERATOR

Is there a way to hide the radio panel inside a car? I recently noticed the radio silhouette protruding thru the dashboard of this Bugatti Veyron That looks pretty ugly.

Did Rockstar hard-code that or something? Or can it be hidden/removed somehow?

  • @meimeiriver its a small screen in zmodeler that is manually moved so what you saw was a misplaced "Dials" object, you'd have to move or delete it in zmodeler or it maybe possible to delete the ID of the dial texture out of the vehicle file though i dont know what that would then look like ingame

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm pretty sure the car file is locked, but I'll try finding that ID. I'm fairly certain the car interior would look fine without it, as, like I said, it's kinda burried inside the dashboard (to the right), and meant to be entirely covered up.

I examined some lowriders, last night, and clearly not all cars have this radio panel (as I first thought); so I'm gonna try and remove it.

  • @meimeiriver alright good luck (: just remember that if you remove the ID so the radio goes then the dashboard lights and dials will presumably also be removed (if they are on that particular veyron) because its part of the same thing

Awww, that sucks. :) I really want to keep the dials and dashboard lights and all.

EDIT: I just realized, there are other Bugatti Veyron cars in the game; maybe I'm just better off installing one of those. :)

  • @meimeiriver afraid the only way to do that then is for it to be unlocked, then you'd get it in zmodeler isolate the dials so you can click it then enter polygon mode and delete the radio panel polygons and leave the rest

Oh, this is is very cute! I can see the dials in the OpenIV viewer! And turn them on and off (and it seems to keep the dashboard lights). Okay, now I really need to get Zmodeler!

EDIT: No, some dashboard lights seem to disappear with it, after all.

@AuthorSaulAlan Hmm, seems Zmodeler won't let me import the .yft at all. :( it says it will, I then press 'Import', and then the button is greyed out again.

  • @meimeiriver yeah thats locked then, thats how the locked files work looks like you can open them but fails when you press it, zm2 used to tell you if it was locked or not zm3 doesn't

uh yeah you get a week or two weeks i forget how you activate it though? was kinda complicated i remember mine ran out after about 2 days aswell, i got steamed and gave up lol

Yeah, managed to get the 14-days license. It's kind of a confusing process, LOL.

So, yeah, .yft seems locked, after all. Too bad the author doesn't seem around any more, so he could fix it.

  • @meimeiriver ah well :/
