[Tutorial / Zmodeler3] How to Make UV-Template Picture (Livery-Template too)
it's just a way of render UV-Template to picture.
sometime need UV-Template for the texture making,
about the livery, body dirt, windows dirt......................................................................................................................
[1] select all objects
....................................................................................................................
[2] select polygon mod > 'BY Material' u want
....................................................................................................................
[3] mouse right click Menu > Mapping > Edit UV
....................................................................................................................
[4] select UV-channel / Keep old mapping / uncheck continuous surface > ok
....................................................................................................................
[5] change a window to UV-Mapper
....................................................................................................................
[6] select Material
....................................................................................................................
[7] Render UV
....................................................................................................................
[8] Render UV > and SAVE
....................................................................................................................

When I click "copy by material" I get the error "Can apply on polygons level only. file:byMaterial.cpp line:282"

nothing about 'copy by material'
[2] select polygon mod > slect by materialmaybe, u need right tutorial for livery-support

@dsawdsaw I meant select by material. It was a typo, not that I did something wrong in zmodeler.

if u want select by material,
have to select that model of material used first.sure, u got a error-message,
when u didn't select right model or material.so i say, select all object first!
and u must select a mod 'polygon'
that's a reason-

This is my best result. Did everything exactly as you said in the tutorial. Either some important parts are missing from the tutorial or can you explain what has happened?

In step 7, how can I get the white background? For some reason I don't have it.

Not wishing to be a necro, but is this tutorial outdated? I can't get the wireframe to show in the UV mapper window, although I am using a vanilla GTA V vehicle, would that make a difference?

I know this topic is old and all, but i have a question, when i do this and i save them template, and add it to the car and it shows in open iv... and it shows when i load it into the gam.. but the issue is when im driving and it hits something it crashes my vehicle. Do you know why have you had this issue? its driving me crazy i cannot figure it out.

I did everything EXACTLY as this guide wants me to do, it does not work.
I cannot select by material, my car doesnt show all the red points.
When im in the UV Mapper view there is no "genereic etc PAINT:1"The UV Renderer is just empty, i followed this tutorial now for 2 HOURS!!!! i repeated all the steps more then 20 times, every time its the same result and i dont know what im doing wrong.
I am extremely frustrated
Everytime i try to follow an tutorial, doesnt matter what it is it never works for me.Here is a video what my problem looks like, it doesnt look like in the tutorial, i dont know...

@k3nnyq3 you probably did not uncheck "continous mesh surface" on the "Edit UV Mapping" Panel

Hi I have a problem after I did the first step and change to polygons to do the second I want to click by material and then it shows the error ,,
