    verify game data

If that's what is suggests, then that's what you need to do. If the data is corrupt, the only way it will get repaired is by verifying them.

Not to go against a moderator, LOL, but 9 out of 10, 'corrupt game data' is just Rockstar's way to saying you made a type typo (LOL, can you believe it?! I made a typo in 'typo'!) in an XML file (which technically really constitutes 'corrupted game data') Has happened to me many times (but less these days, fortunately). There aren't all that many XML files one changes oneself, as you know; so, likely a typo in dlclist.xml (like <item> instead of <Item>?). Or in things like carcols.meta, if he recently added a car.

Verifying the game files (STEAM) is actually rarely truly needed, unless one screwed up in Biblical ways. :)

Would actually be nice if the OP gave a bit more info.

You can go against my ideas any day, if mine are wrong. Being a "moderator" isn't something superior, we just keep this place organized and clean.

    Thank you, it's appreciated!

While we're at it, would actually be nice if Rockstar were a bit more verbose in its error logging. Currently, it's a joke, really. Something like

"Unable to process '<item>' in line 89 of mods/update/x64/dlclpacks/test/data/carcols.meta

Would go a long way to help us debug matters. In Rockstar's defense, though, they never meant for us to change things in the first place, so they likely reckoned they need not bother. But they kind of went the other way, and just give you some noob message to reboot your system (which will only strenghten ppl in their belief there's something really wrong when that didn't help)

Fortunately, there's always a simple way to troubleshoot things; which is to say, your game was running just fine before, then you did something, then it crashed. So, it's usually no rocket science where to look first (that's 'rocket', not 'rockstar'). Doesn't always mean you can immediately solve it, but at least you know where to start your debugging.

I'll upvote you, as I can't offer any real help; but yeah, that's why I'm not too fond of OpenIV installers. I think you can extract those packages, though, so as to see what happened, and where.

OIV > zip and extract to see what's inside and what should go where. Never ever have I let an auto installer fondle my IV or V installation
