@gtaenthusiast There's a section on these forums called Tutorials.

@LeeC2202 when doing the putting the rpf files into mods, do i have to do through open iv? how do i copy and paste on open iv?
-
@gtaenthusiast You can copy the rpf files in through Windows Explorer, you only need OpenIV to put things into those rpf files.
-
@LeeC2202 I keep the original update folder aswell as the one in the mods folder?
-
@gtaenthusiast Yeah. You don't delete any of the original game files, the mods folder is a copy, not a replacement.
-
@LeeC2202 copied update to the mods folder it is a quite big file isn't it? just checking
-
@gtaenthusiast You don't mean you copied the whole update folder do you?
To get started, you only need the update.rpf file into mods\update. When you start adding addons, you need the x64\dlcpacks folder.
The only time you need to add any of the original dlcpack folder/files, like mpheists or a patchday folder into your mods folder, is if you are changing something in them, like replacing a vehicle.
-
@LeeC2202 yup copied the whole thing, what should i do? now also this is what my mods folder is looking like now!
how can i upload screenshot on here?
-
@gtaenthusiast Have you read any of that tutorial I linked to... all this information is in there, so I am just repeating what has already been written.
To post a screenshot you should host it on somewhere like TinyPic or Imgur and then use the image link in the buttons above the message writing box.
-
@LeeC2202 I am planning to do addons aswell. and this 120 second delay on this forum is pissing me off can you get my rep up?
-
@LeeC2202 I am reading it, I have it up right now trying to do this... a good video tut will aid but I guess we almost finished with this mods folder, moving onto scripts just create a folder then add scripthookv.net into it? because you have mentioned not to pull hook v.dll in it.
god these mods are so much effort compared to FSX!!!
-
@gtaenthusiast I'm not just going to upvote posts so you can post faster, especially when that means I will have to stop what I am doing more frequently.
I do write mods as well, not just answer questions... and that's why I gave you the link, so I don't sit here repeating what already exists in another thread.

@gtaenthusiast That seems fine.

@LeeC2202 your bio is a spitting image of yourself!!

From the tutorial I linked to...
Community Script Hook V .NET
- Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or higher. No need to do this step on Windows 10.
- Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 (x64). Newer mods require C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2015.
- Copy the ASI file into your game directory.
- Create a folder named "scripts" in your game directory.

Update folder seems fine.

Curious, have we met in real life?

@LeeC2202
even fine with this?
-
@gtaenthusiast You don't need the data folder or that metadata file
-
@LeeC2202 deleted and dinput.dll in scripts folder or not?
I am very cautious and maybe asking silly questions because i dont want to screw it up!!
-
@gtaenthusiast unless you have installed any script mods, your scripts folder should be empty.
Re-read the sections on ScriptHookV and ScriptHookVDotNet in that tutorial to make sure you have got the right files in the right folder.
-
yes my scripthookv.dll is in the same part where gta5.exe is located , should the .net one be in this same part too?I havent got a scripts folder so I am making one now

I've just answered that a few posts back...
