Car headlight settings don't apply by the game

  • Hi! Basically I downloaded few custom cars and found that a lot of cars have a problem with near/far lights, rearlight, reverslight, etc. They shine very bad or with wrong angle, comparing to vanilla cars.

    I opened carcols.meta to edit lights and for some reason the game completely ignores all settings in <Lights> section.

    For example
    Nissan GT-R 35 NISMO
    https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/2015-nissan-gt-r-35-nismo-add-on-replace-animated

    It has bad headlight settings and unrealistic reverselight. Modifying
    <headLight>
    <intensity value="0.800000" />
    to something like this
    <intensity value="0.100000" />
    has no effect in the game.

    I even tried to do some crap into the carcols.meta at the begining to the file like:

    sdfsdf <?xxxxml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?&^%$^&$%&#^$#@$^
    <CVehicleModelInfoVarGlobal>

    and it looks like the file is completely ignored despite it was added in content.xml

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Try changing the light setting value instead, use 0 for normal single headlight corona, then I know 2 is for yellow headlights, you'd have to try what the others do.

    @Ivanya When absolutely nothing changes, I'd start with validating yout carcols.meta file first xmlvalidator
