new to this, is there a step by step guide on how to install a mod from here?
-
i just got my first PC that can handle gta V pretty well and I want to use mods, like the Spider-Man one I found on this site but I cant figure out how to install it could someone help? is there an easy guide somewhere on here?
-
@alexlewis633 Start with the thread I have linked below, read it thoroughly... if you skip sections, things will go wrong, so make sure you fully understand each section before moving on to the next.
Don't skip the part on the mods folder in particular, that is an important part.
But, be aware that the game has just updated and any script mods do not work right now and probably won't do for another 3 or 4 days... that includes the Spiderman mod you have downloaded.
-
what mods would work then?
-
@alexlewis633 At the moment, probably none.
They all rely on something called ScriptHookV and that doesn't work with the new update. It usually takes a few days for the new version to arrive.
I would advise going to this page on the main site https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/script-hook-v
Click on Follow Updates and wait for the new version to appear.

do you know if scripthook has been updated? I would really like to go ahead and try some mods thanks
-
@alexlewis633 Yes, it's updated to support the latest version.
-
@V4D3R awesome, so as long as I follow the guide the other mod gave me above
I should be good right?
-
@alexlewis633 Yeah, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'm the one who wrote the tutorial.
-
@V4D3R now would these mods also work on an xbox 360? or is that a totally different thing
-
@alexlewis633 Discussions on console modding aren't allowed here.
-
@V4D3R my bad lol finally had the time to mess with all this so finally sitting down and trying to install the flash mod
-
@V4D3R this is the only part I'm stuck at "Just creating a folder and renaming it to "mods" is not enough. You need to place the RPF files you modded inside the mods folder" but I don't get where I get RPF files
-
@V4D3R do I just copy and paste the examples or what?
-
@alexlewis633 If you modify anything inside any rpf in any way, it should go into the mods folder.
For an example, let's say you have to modify the vehicles.meta.
First you have to copy the update.rpf from the Update folder. Put it in mods\update.
Now you should have two update.rpfs, one in Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update and the other in Grand Theft Auto V\update.Put the modified vehicles.meta into the update.rpf inside the mods folder. The directory should look like mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5.
The unmodified update.rpf inside the Grand Theft Auto V\update shouldn't be modded in any way.
The same thing should be done if you install any add-on or replace vehicle.
-
@V4D3R okay, i sorta get it, so I downloaded the flash script, what do I do with it?
-
@alexlewis633 Can you post a link to the mod please?
-
-
@alexlewis633 Do you have the flash mod created by JulioNIB? The mod you are trying to install is an extension of that mod.
Those two files should go to scripts folder. Of you don't have one, create a folder in Grand Theft Auto V main directory. Make sure you have installed Community Script Hook V .NET.
-
@V4D3R no, I didn't realize it was an extension could you post a link to that mod
