How to, Spawn Fully upgraded kit Vehicles?



  • hi , i have a humvee model that has way too many polygons and vertices than GTA 5 can handle even after optamizations. more than 600,000. hence i might have to take some parts off of the car model and spawn them on the car as , mod kits, customizable upgrade parts. but, i want it so that,

    when the humvee spawns all the parts should spawn along with it, fully upgraded kit car. so that the model is not missing any parts on it, when spawned. is that even possible? like we see customized sandking in online play? that spawns on it's own.

    Thank you for any guidance provided in Advance :)

    options im looking into right now:

    make a Kit with the help of carcols and carvariations and have it spawn with the car. don't know how to do it. never done it before.



  • @FoxtrotDelta personally, I think the parts we should make as mod kits should be the ones that aren't always on the HMMWV, like doors, the roof, the trunk... etc. That way the unarmed version could have multiple versions.

  • @nathanjamesddg151 when u have time, please have a look ifyou can find a car or a vehicle that has around 600,000 polygons.

  • @FoxtrotDelta It's not much help, but I managed to reduce the poly count by 50% in autodesk Maya. I don't think I lost too much quality. If I reduce it by 95% or so, I could make some decent LOD models. The model is normally around 335k polys. The model is still 40mb though. alt text



  • @nathanjamesddg151 i reduced it in 3DS Max to 70% reduction.

    Can you send me your Maya version. I'll i want to compare. mine did loose some quality on 70% in 3ds max 2017 Pro Optimizer tool.



  • @FoxtrotDelta Halved it again (75% reduction in polys), lost all detail on the wheels, but the main body seems okay. Interior probably was affected as well though. I might be able to optimize the model. We would want to keep the high poly wheels and the interior, but I could make decent LODs.



  • @FoxtrotDelta What version are you using? I used the OBJ version.



  • @nathanjamesddg151 im using max format save, Vray Max. that one has the Max details on it. 3ds and obj are no good they have been convereted.

    Edit: look under calculate tab.



  • @FoxtrotDelta I optimized the OBJ version because the Maya version had northward of a million polygons.



  • @nathanjamesddg151 i don't have the Maya version. hence used Vray Max. since it has not been converted and the quality is A1. i'll use your 50% reduced one for LOD 2.



  • @FoxtrotDelta I think you should use my 75% reduced one. It's only 20mb. And we should reduce the quality of the textures by a lot. And perhaps reduce the interior even further.



  • @nathanjamesddg151 textures have been taken care of. interior well back seat and stuff was reduced. wanted to retain, max quality for the parts visible to the player in first person view. the Dash and all.





  • @nathanjamesddg151 want to try out the car with missing wheels and parts? just for a look? :P
