Online or offline Im still having steam issues!
-
FAIR WARNING: I just purchased this game yesterday. So yes im a noob.
I downloaded the trainer and scripthookV. I put them in my gta file like Im supposed too.
But everytime I get on steam and launch gta 5 it says gta5 needs to update. Which from then on I have to uninstall and reinstall the game because Im a beginner at this so Im brand new at modding and dont now How to undo the update to play the game vanilla style. This is my fourth time installing gta5 and hopefully its my last because id love to have some assistance, and also love to start modding this game sometime soon!Thanks to everyone who reads this!

Vanilla style? It will still be the same as before, only with maybe some new weapons or vehicles.... I recommend you delete everything, download it again, and let it update. Trust me, its worth it.

@TheLoneWolf293 As far as the modding goes, am I doing everything right? does everybody have to wait for that long update to finish?
-
@Maytrx The first thing you should do is get the game fully updated with no mods at all installed.
Only when it is fully updated should you install anything to do with mods and even then you should read this tutorial first https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/1451/tutorial-grand-theft-auto-v-modding-a-few-things-you-should-know?page=1
There is a section in there that shows you how to run two versions of the game, one for modding and one for online. I would strongly recommend that way of running the game if you are going to be playing online and offline. Playing online with any mods carries a high risk of getting a ban and the last thing you want after just buying the game, is to be banned from playing it.

@LeeC2202
Hello! thank you for your insight! I never plan on playing gta5 Online. I just want to be playing offline so i can screw around in god mode, try out some new cars. and I would like to download Vehicle cannon that is found here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/vehicle-cannon-mod
Do I still need to download OpenIV?
Im just stating that Id only play offline and wondering if I need to still use that software.

@Maytrx Yes, you still need OpenIV, ScriptHookV and probably ScriptHookVDotNet. But you have to be fully updated to make sure you use the correct versions that match the game version you are using.
