How do I make extra License Plate slots?
-
Hi,
As you know, there are 6 license plate slots. Well I have a big license plate pack I want to make, but I would really like to have the extra slots, instead of constantly changing the veshare. For example, plate_06, plate_07....etc
Does anyone know how?Thanks~

Quick update!!
I managed to add 2 more license plates by adding 2 more slots and editing the text in the carcols, and obviously by adding the extra 2 plates into veshare. BUT....It's weird. Menyoo will only pick up one extra plate. After that, it doesn't notice there's any more afterwards.
Also, there is a weird thing with the enhanced trainer, which IS able to pick up multiple added plates....the names. My worry is that if I add many more, it will not have enough names to go by. Also, these street and sports names are nowhere in the extra lines I added within the carcols...does anyone know any more about this? Thank you!
Why are these names here? This is what I typed for names in carcols...
I guess it doesn't represent the name ingame??<TextureSetName>kg chhnang</TextureSetName> <DiffuseMapName>kg_chhnang</DiffuseMapName> <NormalMapName>kg_chhnang_n</NormalMapName>

Thank You for interesting info! IRL I kind of have a "license plate fetish", so, after a few months, I am still "learning" the "carcols" part, especially how to properly set up these "extents". Although, I haven´t tried adding plates (I guess 5 is enough for me :P). In theory, if the license plates textures are in vehshare(and named properly) and if they are "registered" properly in carcols, then I don´t foresee problems, because (in theory) You are doing everything, what is needed. For example, adding new vehicles is not that different, You also need to add model/texture files(as the textures in vehshare for plates) and "coding"(by that I mean vehicles, handling, carcols, carvariations). There could be a line in an unknown encrypted file(not all the files are accessible to date) called "MaxLicensePlateNumber" or smth like that, but as far as I am aware, no information about such thing...
I will soon release my mod with 5 modified plates + proper carcols lines.
My question is, what does Menyoo say? Does it also name these 2 new plates as "Street" and "Sport" or is it only in enhanced trainer? Where does that trainer take its info from?

It's a hardcoded list in game's Los Santos Customs (you'd have to edit the game scripts to add more and good luck with finding a script decompiler let alone a compiler) and a hardcoded value in trainers (as nobody ever knew this was possible before, same with window tints). The only trainer that I know of which displays add-on plates properly is the Simple Trainer by sjaak327 - and that only displays 35 plates compared to the [insert number above 35] possible plates.

@WildBrick142 Hi, I'm using the enhanced trainer and it crashed the trainer with 20 total plates. So I've managed a total of 11 with no issue. I think the enhanced trainer will only let me add enough to make 2 full pages (18 plates total). There's a way to get extra plates with the trainer not noticing them. Adding probability in carvariations and possibly messing with the popgroups, to get what you want. Too much effort, and pointless just for hoping that the car with the plate you want will spawn.
Menyoo only picks up the plated that is named "Street" and the standard GTA plates. But the "Street' plate which I named as "kg cham" shows as Yankton. The exact same name as the erm well...Yankton plate within Menyoo. The plate names I give are completely ignored. Also, these add-ons do not show in LS Customs. I didn't go into it that much, and I'm probably not smart enough.
So I can see that different trainers read this differently. Can you link me to the trainer you said with 35 plates please? I want to mess around and probably crash a trainer again.
I have 25 total plates, and that would be replacing the standard ones too.

@HRH It is possible from what I can tell, to add 5 extra slots with Enhanced Trainer. So I did add more license plate slots.
Blue on White
Yellow/Black
Gold/Blue
Blue/White SA Caps
Blue/White SA Exempt
Blue/White Yankton
Street (Name I added: kg cham)
Sports (Name I added: kg chhnang)
Race (Name I added: kg speu)
License Plates Item 9 (Name I added: kg thom)
License Plates Item 10 (Name I added: kandal)The names I added in carcols are above too...so the trainer gives them different names. Maybe the names I gave would properly appear, if I intergrated these plates in LS Customs. Which would probably be near impossible....
The texture names are also same, but like this for example: kg_chhnang kg_chhnang_n
Made sense to keep the _n pattern. Also changed the letter colours, but the blue is so dark, that it's basically black anyway. Expect the police. That's a correct bright red for my plate.
Actually Menyoo is very different, as you can see in my other reply on this thread. So the registration is different for different trainers, as well as the names. I have not seen what and how the native trainer does this yet either. Though I'm happy I can have extra plates....I have that same license plate fettish haha!
So 11 total plates is fine, but 20 crashed Enhanced Trainer haha.... Pixelated sad face
You could in theory have some cars only spawn with add on plates, with probability in carvariations. Not worth it in my opinion.

As for the trainer, here you go: https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav
I have 26 added-on plates so far and all display correctly there. You can find them in Vehicle Options>License Plate Menu.

@Namie243 All in-game colors are supported(even utils), scroll carcols a little bit down and there you see the list, there are different blue. It was hell of a pain to one-by-one match different blue colors with my Bahrain, California, & Monaco plates (which all use different blue colors).
