Renamed Scripts folder, renamed all .asi files to .txt (except for Trainer.asi an OpenIV.asi, of course); still horrible crash in Simple Trainer, the moment I try and load the interior.

That's worrying if you're getting the crash with no scripts... that would seem like it's mods folder related. What happens if you rename your mods folder?

Then the maps load. But other than my own dlc packs (which I even disabled for the occassion), shouldn't be anything in there to crash it. QuantV made changes to upgrade.rpf, but also on your machine, where it ran just fine.

  • @meimeiriver Which gameconfig are you using?

I don't even know if that's relevant here but I'm still using the one for 1011, this one https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars

Other than that, I can't think of anything different between our systems modded file wise.

I have a few .rpf file (x64b, x64f, etc) that are in mods. Going to rename them too, and see whether it's something in those.

P.S. I think, at some point, I defragmented one of these .rpf's entirely (more or less by mistake); it's entirely possible that process may have failed somewhere.

  • MODERATOR

@meimeiriver Ok, it IS in one of these rpf files in mods. Now going to figure out which one.

  • @meimeiriver Try x64f, x64b seems ped related... x64f has interior stuff in it.

    x64b

Nope, it really was x64b. :) I don't understand why, though. I thought, for sure, it would be x64f (where I had changed a few paintings in Franklin's home). Now I gotta go figure out what I changed in x64b, even.

  • @meimeiriver The only thing in x64b that stands out, is scaleform_frontend.rpf that was updated as part of the QuantV installation... but not in that file.

Now this time round, I didn't install that from QuantV, so there's a difference.

Can't see how that would affect anything though. :\ but with this game, you can't rule anything out I guess.

Hmm, I did change scaleform_frontend.rpf recently, to add my own startup screen; but, like you say, that wasn't in x64b at all.

EDIT: Nope, the startup screen in x64b has the default 'V' girl. In which case I wonder why I even put x64b in mods to begin with.

  • @meimeiriver Is it actually a different size to the one in the game folder?

The one in mods is about 100k larger. Can you tell what the 'last modified' date is one your vanilla x64b, please? I had restored my previous install a few days ago, so all modified dates have become meaningless. :) Maybe something actually did change in x64b, that I'm unaware of.

    Nevermind: it's June 2015.

  • @meimeiriver Modified 25 February 2015, 10:57:50

That's odd. Mine is from June 2015.

Still, for the life of me, can't figure out what I ever changed in x64b that needed it to be copied to mods. I think I should just delete it.

  • MODERATOR

    This post is deleted!

  • MODERATOR

@LeeC2202 Why, with x64b.rpf gone, the issue appears to be resolved. :) I have no idea why such innocuous stuff in x64b could cause such an extreme crash on nothing, really, except the apartment interiors; but with this game, you can't rule anything out, I guess. :)

Again, your help has been invaluable! Thanks, once again!

  • @meimeiriver Well you were just about to start renaming the rpf files, so you would have got there without my help... in fact, if you weren't responding to my posts, you'd have got there even quicker. :D

So I think my help slowed you down.

But you were the one suggesting I rename my mods folder. :) Which I hadn't done yet, as I couldn't fathom anything in there possibly screwing it up (and I still don't get it: there's truly nothing in x64b that should affect any interiors loading, at all).

Note to self: eliminate stuff regardless, even if it doesn't make sense doing so (or maybe rather, especially when it makes no sense doing so, LOL).

@LeeC2202 Ooh, I found what I had changed! Phone Wallpapers

    "x64b.rpf \ data \ cdimage \ scaleform_generic.rpf"

Yeah, let's not use that again! :)

Yes, that was for Simple Trainer. I don't see an option in Menyooconfig.ini for MP maps either, tbh.

  • @BladeRJ I have just downloaded menyoo and I can't find a MP map option either. Are you sure menyoo and the enhanced native trainer even switches to MP map enhanced native trainer?
However, you mentioned you reinstalled. I guess you haven't made any backup of your ini-files before? Apparently the default settings are different from your old settings. As eshenk and I mentioned before, entering MP properties with MP map enabled is not the problem but the SP items have to be respawned by code. If any of those mods enable MP map but does NOT have this respawn functionality, you're screwed.

  • @Cyron43 i'm not sure of anything,it was another user that told me that trainers make calls to mp maps in another thread.
Odd thing is i had all working before and did not change the instalation order......and no i didnt have backup becouse my windows went bust on me. now i do in other hd.

Trainers can load scenes, as it were, that use MP maps; but for that, yeah, you need to tell the trainer to load those.

Not sure exactly what you're trying to accomplish here. There are 3 (commonly used) places where you can enable/disable MP maps: Simple Trainer, Open All Interiors, and Single Player Apartments. I'd let only the latter mod control them.
