[QUESTION]Vehicle takes off by itself, unstoppable...
-
Edited a vehicle, to give it the right (realistic) speed, torque (aboutish) and maneuverability.
But, upon spawning the vehicle, it takes off by itself, reason unknown.Does anyone know which value I must edit to undo this?
Thank you.
-
@Sammy1970 I don't know what's wrong, but it seems pretty cool.
-
@V4D3R WHAT????
YOU THINK IT'S COOL, WHEN I HAVE TO CHASE MY $@%$@%$@^$ CAR ON FOOT??????? enragedLol, well, yes, it actually is, a bit...
Quite annoying, I fell flat on my face 2 times trying to get in still. XD
Must be quite a sight, in RL, heheheheh.
-
@Sammy1970 you might be able to create a cool mod out of it, what did you alter in the handling specifically, this should be interesting!
-
@Sammy1970 had a similar bug once, vehicle just kept going up, really really high, it was a bad meta configuration (vehicles or handling), not sure but i was messing with suspensions.
To try out, just take a clean vanilla meta set and use it on your vehicle, if it doesn't take off anymore, replace your meta one by one until you find the buggy one.
Once found, edit this buggy meta to find the guilty param
-
@FoxtrotDelta Well, I basically altered every setting in Handling.META...
Should've done it bit by bit, I guess.@mistaputt It is for sure something in the Handling.META, that's the only file I altered.
I just came into a new weirdness: I tried to make 2 cars (HotRod2 and Donkervoort D8GTO) into 4 wheel steering.
Done this a billion times with no issues, but NOW GTA5 suddenly does not accept it anymore.
The second last digit is 8, this worked on all other vehicles I altered like this, but just these 2 newly installed cars refuse to go 4Wheel Steering...VERY odd.
Anyone a clue?
-
@Sammy1970 for the all steering wheels, maybe a missing flag or a bad one in vehicles.meta ?
-
@Sammy1970 sounds like you corrupted your handling.meta file sometimes it happens on OPENIV's end when you replace files alot. I have seen this happen quite a few times. Just get the original handling.meta file and start over again.
fDriveBiasFront value="0.500000" will make the car all wheel drive. I recommend 0.200000 or 0.250000 for rear wheel drive cars it works better for me then just 0.000000
-
@mistaputt As stated in my post, I know that in StrHandlingsFlags, you write from right to left, in that case, the second digit be eight.
Seen from left to right, it's the seventh digit, and this is correct.
Odd, that with the last 2 cars, this no longer is accepted?@Willief23 Hmmm, both new cars came with their own Handling.Meta, and only have on car in it.
Peculiar...
-
@Sammy1970 it's still accepted, just did it on a model i'm working on
here are the flags i use in handling.meta:
<strModelFlags>8448008</strModelFlags> <strHandlingFlags>100081</strHandlingFlags>
-
@mistaputt The funny thing is, my older cars too accept this.
Just these 2 new with their own Handling.Meta refuse to do this.HotRod2 is one of them...

-
Just for the hell of it, I added the Satoca (https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/armed-solar-associated-treaty-organization-apc-add-on) and gave it 6WD and 6Wheel Steering.
It works (<strHandlingFlags>42200080</strHandlingFlags>).
Just the HotRod2 and the Donker refuse this 4WS...
-
@mistaputt Brother, could you do me a wee favor?
Could you install either the Donkervoort or the HotRod2, and try to make them 4 wheel steering?
I'm starting to think it's an issue with these cars, seeing others DO work, both old and new?
Just these two refuse to accept the 4 wheel steering.
-
@Sammy1970 no problem, i'll do it asap and let you know
-
Ok i think i've found the solution
Handling.meta wasn't linked in vehicles.meta.
The person who made this addon forgot to update these 3 lines :<handlingId>FELTZER</handlingId> <gameName>FELTZER</gameName> <vehicleMakeName>BENEFAC</vehicleMakeName>
to something like this :
<handlingId>hotrod2</handlingId> <gameName>HOTROD2</gameName> <vehicleMakeName>ACME</vehicleMakeName>
(where ACME of course is here just for the example, it could be anything).
Please note that some of these values should match with langs files content (in theory) but it's not the point right now.
Enjoy !
-
@mistaputt Oh, see?
I thought it was odd.
And probably the other car has the same error.Thank you VERY much, brother.
-
@Sammy1970 You're welcome, i'm often into metas these past days, doing 2 models with odds wheels dispositions & behaviours, so learnt a lot, glad to share
-
@mistaputt Where do I drop these lines, please?
Or doesn't that matter?
-
@Sammy1970 update addon vehicles.meta lines: 9-10-11
-
@mistaputt Yes, I madew a foolish dumb question here, lol....
I missed the Feltzer lines in the beginning. Now, checking the Donker... here the lines seem OK, for as far as I understand Vehicles.META (which is not at all, heheh).
I'm just experimenting, looking like a pro, hoping it will work.
Note, looking like... I am so good in pretending, lol.
-
@Sammy1970 i think you know and use handling injector for your handling test/debug.
It's far from perfect but may help a lot for handling modifications.
For vehicles.meta, the method i picked is to modify one parameter at a time and check in game the result, very long process made quicker with no-gtavlauncher
